Nonno Carms Pizza and Pasta - Wheaton

Rating: 4.5 /5
Dave Mordis I can’t say enough good things about this pizza place! The owner, Carm, is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. He goes out of his way to make sure every customer feels welcome and taken care of. The food is always fantastic—fresh ingredients, generous portions, and perfectly cooked every time. One of my favorite deals is their Sunday night special: an extra-large pizza with two toppings plus 2 pounds of wings for only $36 if you pick it up. Such a great value for the quality and amount of food you get. It’s become a regular thing for our family, and we look forward to it every weekend. Highly recommend checking them out!

Maldaners Restaurant - Springfield

Rating: 4.4 /5
Kathleen Koechling I visited Maldaners for lunch twice during a recent trip to Illinois, and had terrific food both times. The service was helpful, professional and attentive. My sister told me to try the horseshoe sandwich, which originated in the area. It was humongous (even the smaller version, "ponyshoe" was huge), but delicious. The vegetarian version had loads of fresh, grilled veggies, topped with welsh rarebit, topped with several inches of French fries. The second time, I wisely ordered the Vegetable Stir Fry with green tea rice as recommended by my server. It was absolutely delicious. There were also several other tempting vegetarian options.
el torito mexican grill

El Torito Mexican Grill - Mt Vernon

Rating: 4.3 /5
Julie B While traveling, open on Thanksgiving day...We love Mexican food and this restaurant was walking distance from a hotel, so we opted to stay instead of moving on. We got our order to go, but the restaurant was nice and staff was accommodating. The food and salsas were outstanding! Mmmm GOOD!
big grove tavern

Big Grove Tavern - Champaign

Rating: 4.2 /5
Steve Lalich Haven’t written a review in a while, so here goes! Been wanting to try a full meal at Big Grove Tavern, although I have had some delicious appetizers there in the past. The ambiance is stylish and the outdoor seating is very appealing. The Southwest salad we had was fresh and very tasty, and the avocado in it was high quality and perfectly ripe! The pizza was surprisingly good, especially for a restaurant that is not your traditional pizza hangout. As for my main dish, I ordered the Osso Bucco; braised pork shank over mashed potatoes, sautéed carrots and green beans, with a chipotle gravy. I was absolutely delighted at how delicious and well plated it was! And, as a semi retired food photographer, trust me, they hit the mark with the presentation! I highly recommend this establishment. I can’t wait to return to try another item! PS, our waitress Emma was outstanding, kind and personable!

Davids Food and Spirits - Pontiac

Rating: 4.8 /5
charles reed We were staying over in Pontiac for the night on a route 66 trip. We looked up local restaurants and found Davids Food and Spirits to be highly recommended, so we found our way to this restaurant. The atmosphere was great. We were made to feel like valued customers. The entire staff and the owner David all were wonderful, attentive and friendly. The meal was delicious and plentiful. The potato soup was delicious and the chicken fettuccine was also so very good. If I was a native of Pontiac, I definitely would be a regular customer at this wonderful establishment.
