China Ocean - (Near Petersburg, IL)

H Shepard I was craving authentic Mexican tacos al pastor and they didnt disappoint. Chefs kiss. Refried beans are also five stars. Tamales not bad. I dont like gooey cheese but if you do, you would love their giant Chile relleno which they could rename "Chile drowned in cheese". Chicken quesadilla was too bland and soggy with not enough cheese. Prices are reasonable. Service is good. No ambiance, but who cares when the tacos are so good?

Snow OMG!! My favorite new place!! I knew I wanted some birria tacos, but I wanted something else for later also. The gentleman at the front recommended some tacos for me they’re street tacos. I forgot the name, but they were pork with pineapple. I was super hungry so I opened up one of the container containers on my way home(Yes, I know that’s not exactly safe, but I was at the stoplight). I tasted one of my tacos and pulled over to the side of the road to eat the whole one. He also recommended leche cake. The gentleman there was super nice. I love it!!

E Stout Finally an honest to goodness "authentic" Mexican restaurant in the area! The wait staff was extremely courteous and quick to attend to your needs. Restaurant was clean and in excellent order. Salsa is made from scratch "in house"...you can truly taste the difference. My food order as well as others was out of the kitchen quickly. I ask the waitress to mix and match my taco order. Carnita tacos were fresh, tender and juicy. The shrimp taco was probably the best I ever had with a sweet honey drizzle and fresh mango. The chicken taco was tender, full of flavor and seasoned perfectly. They were all served on corn tortillas (my favorite) with a side of rice, beans and a special taco drizzle. Superb food at a reasonable price. Skip the other place down the road (terrible) and try some really fresh authentic Mexican cuisine at Maryflor.

Julie Smith We love this place. If you miss that fish sandwich they have a the Picnics go here they have they all year round. The foods always hot and fresh. You get a good amount of food for not a lot of money.

Theresa Orvis Came home for a visit and Rivers Edge is open. I could not believe what they had done with the old Mrs.T’s. The decor is amazing and they even pay tribute with an old Mrs. T’s jacket on display. Jacquie was our waitress and she was helpful in making sure our dining experience was memorable. The food was delicious and plentiful. Change is hard in small towns but I sure did enjoy it and I am glad the owners took the chance here.

Shane Cox We had a great meal at Joe’s in Jerseyville last night. Front of house manager was extremely friendly. Quality of food was really high. Best wings in town!!
