5 /5 Jess: Went here a few nights ago for a vegan meetup. The organizer of the meetup arranged, with Dohertys chef, to have a vegan menu for us. It was only 3 options but everything was delicious! I really enjoyed my portobello sandwich and waffle fries! Also, had a couple beers too. :) Thank you so much for creating a special vegan menu for us! Would be awesome to have that portobello sandwich on there all the time! ;)
4 /5 Teresa Pittman-Wall: Exactly what you would expect from pub food. Lots of fried and finder food options. Taste is typical of food prepared to be the byline to pub beverages and activities. It was busy at lunch (no seating wait and fairly quick ). Servers were very friendly (thank you from a weary traveler!) and the atmosphere inviting (your usual dim, pub seating with lots of locals). Prices were very fair.
1 /5 Elizabeth Kercheval: Work did a catering today for a coworker and when our food was received, I wasn’t very pleased the burger was completely burnt I could barley eat it, the waffle fries were over cooked they were crunchy and tasted burnt! Food wasn’t hot or warm! I used to love eating the horseshoes but looks like I was wrong about getting them! Please do better for catering orders!
4 /5 Jennifer Walsh: Nice little spot to grab some dinner and beer! Loved the beer battered mozzarella sticks and the fried mushrooms were absolutely divine. The fish and chips were fine, but nothing to write home about.
Beers were good, service was fantastic and pretty quick, mind you we were there before dinner/evening rush, so it wasnt super crowded.
DeAnna K Big boss breakfast sandwich was amazing. The hash browns were perfectly crispy, not greasy and the sauce they put on the sandwich really made it. Service was great and you can tell its a place people love to come back to
Christina Roberson-Smeltzer This has been my 6th visit to Villa Verone. I have never been disappointed! It has such a welcoming environment. It is perfect for a date night or family celebration. The outdoor seating is especially inviting. You feel like you’re in a floral garden! My favorite dishes are the Carbonara, the Burrata small plate, and the White Fish (when it’s available as a special).
Eboni Harris This place is a real gem in Springfield. They have a Chef, I know it is a bar but I am going to call the him a Chef because he is actually cooking real food from scratch with real ingredients and custom recipes. The prices are low, so low you might question the quality but the quality is outstanding.
This isnt your usual Springfield restaurant serving you reheated frozen food from Sysco or GFS. They hand batter the mushrooms (hard to find if you live fried mushrooms), and the chicken strip. The burgers are amazing and juicy, perfect ratios of fat to meat content. The bread is outstanding. The specialty breads like the jalapeños cornbread is a real interesting treat. The cheese sauce is a garlic cheese sauce that is different from the normal here and a real delight. The French fries are amazing. They coke with salt and pepper on them for that added special touch.
The servers are friendly and attentive. The draft drink specials are great.
They have plenty of outdoor seating and a window you can order from outside if you are so inclined.
The only downside is they stop taking food order at 8pm. Other than that this place is absolutely perfect.
Shan B First time going to this childer’s location ad we have been to the one in east Peoria and they both were delicious! The only thing I wish is that they had more breakfast items and soup items on their menu. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and it was the most delicious orange juice I’ve had in a long time and their breakfast burrito and salsa were great too!
Rebecca Kaatz We had a great meal to celebrate with a group of 14. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. They checked on us regularly. The food was hot and delicious! We had lots of different entrees. Near me the blackened chicken pasta was spice and full of great flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth The dining room is spacious and overlooks a charming lake.
