Cracker Barrel Old Country Store - Mt Vernon

Rating: 4.3 /5
Clarissa Dagg Tonight was our first visit to this cracker barrel. We had a lovely experience! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. She offered, advice on favorites from the menu and suggested a few of her favorites. Our food came out hot and perfectly cooked. We both ordered fried chicken (home style and chicken fried chicken). The portions were much more than we expected for the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The store was clean and well stocked. As busy as they were tonight we did not have a wait time which was nice. We will definitely be going back!

Shelly Sieger Everything we had was absolutely delicious! Wonderful fresh bagels, beautiful sugar cookies, fantastic salad With homemade dressing… the red velvet cake with cream cheese was absolutely decadent. I feel sorry for those that dont live within driving distance of this piece of heaven.

The Wooden Tie Cafe - Pierron

Rating: 4.8 /5
Ethan Meldrom Not far from Highland Illinois, in the hamlet of Pierron, is an establishment worthy of your visit. The intoxicating aroma of wood smoke calls you to sit down and satisfy your desire for good barbecue. My family was pleased with our choices and I daresay items we did not choose would be just as delicious.

Checkers II - Union

Brian One word, WOW! We stopped by after a day at the Illinois Railway Museum. The food is well prepared, quick and very tasty. Our server was very friendly and helpful (our first time here). The portions are abundant. Everyone took home leftovers. Besides American favorites, there is some Bavarian influence on the menu as they have bratwurst and a variety of schnitzel dishes on the menu. Ill definitely be back! Great option if you are in the area. One caution is that seating is limited in the winter when the out door area is closed

The GOAT - Batavia

John Moore We stopped in on a Friday night and this place was crowded! We were told there would be about a 20 minute wait but we were fortunate to be seated in 5 minutes. We were greeted by Ian our server immediately which was very nice. We noticed they have Happy Hour Tues-Fri from 4-6pm so we took advantage of their half off cocktails and a few food specials. I had the Wisconsin Old Fashion and my wife had the Poli Old Fashion which was tequila based. Both were fantastic! We started with an order of their Street Corn Deviled Eggs which were amazing..super creamy. They do have a GF menu so my wife had a bowl of their homemade chili and I had their Italian Beef Bao trio. Both were delicious and very meaty. They have an extension whiskey/bourbon list plus their burgers looked amazing. We will definitely be back!

Amano Bistro Chicago - Chicago

Rating: 4.8 /5
jerytor I will live in North Center in a few days so I decided to check out one of the restaurants close to my future home. Amano Bistro was such a great discovery. The interior is not that big but very cozy. The ambiance was nice and people were not loud at all, unlike many others places. I loved that I could see the kitchen and was able to watch the chefs preparing the food. The glass window is a very nice touch. My waitress was welcoming and attentive to my needs from A to Z. Food was excellent, I had a free welcoming appetizer, the ragu pasta, a glass of red wine, a nutella tiramisu, and a café. I will definitely come back because I want my wife to also experience this top-notch restaurant :)
