Logan Oltman The life of the party is at El Jimador. The atmosphere is great! The food never disappoints. The drinks are amazing. When I want to go out and have a quality Mexican style meal. This is my go to. Only issue I’ve ever had is service could be better. Sometimes it takes a little too long to get your server to come back to your table. Especially when they are packed and when the drinks are flowing. It’s sometimes annoying. But besides that. Hard to beat the food and atmosphere alone. Prepare to spend though as it is by far not the cheapest option but, you get what you pay for.

Bill Simones I had the Chuleta Grileada (Pork Chop). It came with beans, rice, french fries, fried plantain, and a small salad. The beans were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The white rice was a pleasant surprise. It looks plain but is far from it. The yellow sauce had a nice kick but didnt linger in the mouth. The pork chop is bone in, charred to a lovely balance of sweet and smokey. The meat around the edges was a bit dry (to be expected when grilled), but the meat nearest the bone was very moist. The french fries werent very crispy, but my daughter and I enjoyed them. Everything was devoured. We finished with the flan! I loved how friendly the staff is, they are very welcoming. The portions are large, and the price is fair.

Nicolettes Hobbies Visiting with my sister, she recommended this lovely restaurant. I was blown away, service and food was magnificent and tasty. Other customers were speaking French and German (possibly) but an experience (a special memory) with my sister. The music and decor, did not disappoint it was fantastic. I love history, and enjoyed the entire area we were seated. A must if you come to visit the area.

Julie B While traveling, open on Thanksgiving day...We love Mexican food and this restaurant was walking distance from a hotel, so we opted to stay instead of moving on. We got our order to go, but the restaurant was nice and staff was accommodating. The food and salsas were outstanding! Mmmm GOOD!

Connie Smelcer Youve Gottzzs to try this wonderful place! The restaurant is clean and the staff is super friendly. Every order is made fresh and you can really tell. My onion rings were so crispy and the onion didnt slide out in a slimy string. My fish was so thick and juicy, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The bbq pulled pork loaded fries were delicious with huge portions. My mom loved her burger. The owner of the establishment is very personable and present. He even delivered our meal to the the table himself. I saw him interacting with the customers throughout the building, ensuring everyone was satisfied. It was a very pleasant atmosphere and overall dining experience.

Steven Piekosz Ordering food here as we speak, 3 star review before even getting it (will update after actually trying the food) because their website redirects to some scam website that prompts you to allow notifications to your phone to verify youre human, and then begins to spam you every minute to click and renew a security protection for your device and that your device is compromised. **EDIT** Told the owner about the situation with website, he is aware and trying to resolve it, and has been for a bit. Food was great, the restaurant was really clean when I went in, everyone was friendly, this is a gem to have if youre local to Pekin. Updated to 5 stars it deserves
