ARDOR Breads and Provisions - Peoria

Rating: 4.6 /5
Anu K J ARDOR Breads and Provisions is a wonderful spot that leaves a lasting impression. The ambience is warm and inviting with a clean space, cozy interiors, and beautiful pictures on the walls that add charm to the dining experience. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, and the chef is very friendly too, making the visit even more enjoyable. We have known this place since the time it did not have the additional seating area, and it has only grown better over time. Both the food and beverages are excellent. Every bite shows the effort the team is putting behind, and the menu offers delicious flavors that make it worth every visit. The bakery items are a highlight and should definitely not be missed, as they showcase freshness and great taste. Parking is convenient too, with public parking available just opposite the restaurant.

Asadoras Argentinas Burgers - Oswego

Abel Rivera So the way we found out about this place is interesting, a man after having a colonoscopy said the first thing he was going to eat was a burger at this place. After raving about the food to his nurse, ( my wife ), that inspired us to give it a try. Its a small cafe style place with a few tables, nothing fancy, but hidden past that are perhaps the most flavorful burgers youre gonna try. And try you should. The food is made by hand, no pre formed pattys here. There is a wide selection of burgers all with the Argentinian flare and flavor along with a variety of other sandwiches. We had burgers, the Chimichurri fries and they provided a garlic bread Chimichuuri seasoned appetizer as well. Burgers are big and will certainly satisfy you if your hungry, my wife could barely eat half of hers. We ordered our done medium, next time Im going medium rare, ask for some extra heat and youll get some roasted chilis on the side as well. For the quality of the food, cost is more than reasonable. If you live anywhere remotely near this place and fancy a tasty burger, I recommend you give this place a try.

R K Cocktails are the main reason to go here instead of the other Epiphany Farms venues, but the tasting menu is a close second. Both are well-curated and interesting, and seasonally influenced. The hosts up front always make the speakasy aspect fun if you dont have a reservation, and if you do, the passphrases are appropriate to the theme. The restaurant is uniquely decorated and the main dining room is beautiful and comfortable. The staff are friendly and get along well, which goes quite a ways toward making the atmosphere welcoming and comfortable. Ive never had a bad meal here, but for best results, always get the special. When theyre busy some dishes can take a little longer or come out overcooked, but even then the high quality ingredients and interesting combinations make for an excellent dining experience. Highly recommend.

Sauce on the Side - Edwardsville

Steven Bott I cannot believe it has taken me this long to finally get here. When I lived in STL, I had a SOTS close to my home and I dined there on the regular. Even though I am thrilled to have one on the IL side of the river, its a half hour drive to enjoy. The other day I was running errands and shopping in Edwardsville. I made it a point to do it around the lunch hour, so I could enjoy an calzone. I ordered at the counter as you do and lucky for me, the cashier was patient with me. As I ordered, I kept reading the menu and changed my mind two times and finally stayed with my third choice. Having a love of jalapeños, Pancho Villa was my final choice. Pancho Villa not only gave my fresh jalapeños, it was also filled with red peppers, smoked cheddar, Mozzarella and the meat was Chorizo prepared in Smoked Chili Oil. Yum-Yum and no heartburn. For dipping or spreading on top, I was given a cup of Queso. One nice thing about SOTS, is they offer adult beverages. They have an excellent selection of local craft beers and wines to pair with your calzone. I paired mine with, Pale Ale from Schlafly. The dining room is clean and crisp. Its done in an industrial style. They have regular tables and a few hightop tables, so you can choose which one is best for you. On the tables youll find linen napkins with reusable flatware. If you can eat an entire calzone, I am impressed. For those of us who cannot, next to the soda machine is a stack of eco-friendly to-go boxes to put your leftovers in, to take home.
