Cookies Restaurant - Minooka

Suzanne S Had the Fried Chicken dinner. Chicken amazing, mashed potatoes delicious. Green beans need some flavor. My hubby had the Filet, it was yummy. Twice baked needs a little help, a tiny bit on the dry side. Chicken noodle soup awesome. Cream of broccoli was great too. The pineapple cheesecake. Outstanding. The restaurant is outdated but that makes them. Bloody Marys are a MUST

Ed’s Delicatessen - Edwardsville

Rating: 4.8 /5
Lisa Fox Ed’s Delicatessen hits the sweet spot between classic deli comfort and a relaxed, modern hangout. We had the Reuben (served with a bright, flavorful olive salad) and the Mortadella sandwich—both satisfying and well-balanced. The Mortadella was a nostalgic reminder for my husband of his East Coast deli days, which made it especially meaningful. The drink menu adds to the fun with a great mix of cocktails and beers, including the Rhubarb Gin Fizz. With its chilled, easygoing vibe, Ed’s is an easy place to settle in—and we’re already looking forward to coming back to try their ever-evolving small plates menu.

BEAST Craft BBQ Co. - Belleville

Kristin Skarbovig This Texan can’t say enough great things about BEAST! We got there late on a Sunday, but we were still able to get the ribs, brisket, and some sides. The meat was tender and flavorful. The sauces were complex and unique. But hands down the best thing on the menu is the chili crisp grilled cabbage! I could eat this for every meal! I tried to pry the secret ingredient out of the chef, but he wouldn’t budge. Alas. Next time we’re in St. Louis, we’ll be back!

Baker Street Burgers - Rockford

Faraday Sage This was a very good place. Im usually not a burger guy, but I was delighted when I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. They didnt lie.It was very spicy but flavorful without being too hot either. I was told the cheese curds here are great. I got an iced tea and didnt want to refill, so I wasnt offered one either. Not sure if theyre free or not. The water was not good at all.Even though it tasted filtered, this filters are only good for a short time because I can taste anything in water, not really complaining about the water, but its just typical restaurant water thats run through a filter. I couldnt taste it in the tea though that was fine. A place like this is usually for craft beer drinkers, so you shouldnt be ordering water anyways. The sides were delicious, although it was an extra three and a half or four dollar add on for the sweet potato fries, and there was so much food with the burger alone, we really didnt eat many. Everything seemed priced pretty right, and maybe even a little inexpensive for a place like this with knowledgeable waiters who seem to not have too many tables, so they can come by and service you a lot. The furniture looks quite uncomfortable but its not. I will likely be back soon.

Legacy Pointe Eatery - Springfield

Rating: 4.6 /5
Emalie Stephens We came in with a really large party, and overall I was very pleased with how smoothly everything was handled. From the moment we arrived, the staff worked hard to keep us organized, make sure we had what we needed, and accommodate everyone. Handling a big group is never easy, but they did it with patience and professionalism. The food did take a while to come out, but honestly that’s to be expected with so many orders hitting the kitchen at once. When it did arrive, everything looked great and tasted fresh. Our server stayed attentive throughout, checking in regularly, refilling drinks, and keeping us updated. That kind of communication made the wait feel much more manageable. All in all, it was a positive experience, and I’d definitely recommend Legacy Pointe Eatery for anyone looking for a place that can handle both small tables and big gatherings with care.
