JB’s Steakhouse - (Near Robinson, IL)

5 /5 Jacob Mounts: My wife and I had dinner here to celebrate my wifes birthday. It was a place we had eyeballed for quite a while, but given our work schedules we hadnt been able to try yet. Ill say that they did not disappoint. We called to make reservations, but for the day and hour we showed up, they werent busy enough to necessitate it. However, I would still recommend calling just to make sure your particular dinner party can be accommodated for your needs. Food was excellent. Salad starters with bread. I had the ribeye and my wife had the salmon. Both were prepared nicely and with good presentation. My wife was treated with dessert as it was her birthday as a courtesy of the restaurant. (They even included a candle!) FOH staff was helpful and courteous. Wine list was decent. A gentleman who did not present himself and Im only guessing is either the owner or FOH manager checked on us before we left to make sure everything was as expected. He was friendly and appreciated our comments of our experience that evening. The atmosphere is very nice for a more upscale establishment. This place is great for a special dinner occasion (date night, birthday, anniversary, etc.). Yes, its kinda pricey but worth it for those rare occasions when you want a nice evening out. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant if youre looking for something a little more refined. 4 /5 RVTravelers Voice: JB’s Steakhouse For Robinson, JB’s Steakhouse is the only “upscale” dining establishment. It is conveniently located on the square, right across from the courthouse. We ate here two times while staying in town on an extended business trip. On the first visit, I chose the steak from the “Two for” menu. While cooked to the correct temperature, the steak was a bit tough and lacked flavor. The baked potato was OK, and the bread pudding was delicious for dessert! I chose the pork chop on the second visit. It was excellent. The lettuce wedge salad was very tasty, too! On both occasions, the staff was friendly and provided excellent service.

2 /5 Plant Obsessed: I have eaten here several times for lunch. It was ok. Good burgers/ fries. I wont be back after I came in with a large group and we had 1 person with special dietary restrictions due to religious requirements. The order came back with the restrictions not honored. It was not discovered until after part of the food was consumed. The waitress only seemed concerned that she was not to blame. The manager? Only seemed concerned that the food was free and the order was corrected. If this had been an allergen it would have resulted in hospital stay or worse. They need to do better educating the staff of food safety and dietary requirements.
