Merisa Ashbaugh Do yourself a favor and visit Stymie’s Rest for Sunday Brunch! Great food, friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend the “Daila Lama” and can’t wait to go back to try the bottomless mimosas.

The Moonshine Run - Johnston City

William Lo We ordered the fried chicken special, catfish plate, and their fried ravioli appetizer. I have to say, the food was fantastic and I regret not going sooner! The fried chicken was piping hot, crispy, and juicy! The special came with 4 pieces and two sides. The catfish bites were heaped on the plate, seasoned perfectly, and moist!! Both plates were $17, a great value for the portion size! The tea also deserved a special shout out, as it was nice and dark brewed with a good ratio of tea and water! All in all, a fantastic restaurant in a lively bar setting. The food, value, and the service were all great. Definitely deserves a spot on your list to try out, located in Johnston City.

Flynnie’s Kitchen - Dixon

Sophie Kershaw-Patilla What an adorable diner! Our family stopped for lunch on our way home along I88. The diner is only a few minutes from the interstate, and there is free public parking around the area. The diner is small and quaint with four red diner tables with two chairs each (so our family of 4 took up half the seating). Plan ahead - there are riverfront picnic tables a block away, if your group wont fit. Many people stopped in for to-go orders, but I could see this being the spot for locals to hang out and eat lunch while chatting about town news. There is Sprecher root beer on tap and other bottled drinks in a mini fridge. There is also a dessert fridge - the cakes are scrumptious! The batter for their fried chicken and onion rings was really light and had a great flavor. Hubby enjoyed a Dixon Dog, and I had a fried pickle burger. Yum!
