Marios Pizza - (Near Pontiac, IL)

Steven Bott I cannot believe it has taken me this long to finally get here. When I lived in STL, I had a SOTS close to my home and I dined there on the regular. Even though I am thrilled to have one on the IL side of the river, its a half hour drive to enjoy. The other day I was running errands and shopping in Edwardsville. I made it a point to do it around the lunch hour, so I could enjoy an calzone. I ordered at the counter as you do and lucky for me, the cashier was patient with me. As I ordered, I kept reading the menu and changed my mind two times and finally stayed with my third choice. Having a love of jalapeños, Pancho Villa was my final choice. Pancho Villa not only gave my fresh jalapeños, it was also filled with red peppers, smoked cheddar, Mozzarella and the meat was Chorizo prepared in Smoked Chili Oil. Yum-Yum and no heartburn. For dipping or spreading on top, I was given a cup of Queso. One nice thing about SOTS, is they offer adult beverages. They have an excellent selection of local craft beers and wines to pair with your calzone. I paired mine with, Pale Ale from Schlafly. The dining room is clean and crisp. Its done in an industrial style. They have regular tables and a few hightop tables, so you can choose which one is best for you. On the tables youll find linen napkins with reusable flatware. If you can eat an entire calzone, I am impressed. For those of us who cannot, next to the soda machine is a stack of eco-friendly to-go boxes to put your leftovers in, to take home.

Alisa Eggleston My food and service was excellent. Tia my waitress was awesome. She knew the menu well and was able to recommend based on your taste buds. The decor was nice and I definitely will be trying new dishes in the near future.

R. U. Lost 2 Wow! This buffet has seen quite the turn around since my last visit (about 3 years ago)! Stopped here for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised by their offerings! It was a wonderful combination of both, selection and flavors! I look forward to returning and don’t anticipate it’ll take 3 more years to do so!

Gio BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!! Atmosphere is simple, but doesnt take anything away from the place. Service was amazing, food was so good and the portions were generous!! Pricing was also fair. 10/10 experience for me. I got the Pastrami Reuben.

Jason Byrd Rode bikes here today. We had the Triple Decker Club and the Brunch Burger. The food was excellent, service was awesome and the atmosphere sitting outside is alway entertaining. Glad to see this place opened back up. Definitely worth the 2 hr ride and we WILL be back!!!!!

Bill Powell Cute place !! Came recommended while working in town. Very quaint and gives vibes of times long gone [think 50s diner] I ordered to go due to meetings and picked up.the order without issue Loaded footlong [I got to pick the different options] were excellent!! The fries were a little cold so hopefully next time I can update saying its a one odd Lastly I went with an Avalance [mixing all kinds of different candy in a really thick milkshake]. I had a small and its plenty!! Ill come back and maybe even eat in to catch the ambiance.
