St. Nicholas Landmark - (Near Chester, IL)

5 /5 Pamela Mooney: Great experience! The restaurant has a very interesting history (who would have guessed that Charles Dickens was once there?!). The food is quite generously portioned. I got the fish plate, which was easily enough for two meals. Same with my moms Landmark Salad (which looked amazing). Prices are fair and the service was good. Recommended!

5 /5 Carollia: We got seated pretty quickly. Our waiter took our order and brought our drinks in no time but we had to wait longer than expected for our meals. The waiter was friendly and checked on us a few times and offered drinks to go. I got the peach bourbon mahi and my husband got the southwestern salad. My mahi came with rice and salad. It was great. My husband didnt like the chicken that much, it was dry. The place is beautiful with a view of the Mississippi River. Overall a great experience

5 /5 Jason Frazer: Alot of great history here. The servers were very attentive and courteous. Steak was cooked just right and very flavorful. The beer was great.

2 /5 Kat Bollinger: The service was good—staff were attentive and polite—but unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. The dishes were bland and not worth the price. I paid $26 for two tiny bites of fish, each about the size of my pinky, and $25 for a piece of chicken that was barely half the size of my palm. For those prices, I expected much better flavor and portion sizes. Overall, the service was the highlight, but the food and value did not meet expectations.

5 /5 Jordan Peacock: Fantastic discovery while we were passing through Chester on our way to Missouri on a Sunday afternoon: I was a bit thrown off by a "landmark" showing up when I was trying to find somewhere nearby to eat, but its a charming restaurant overlooking the river. We had the Southern Sweetness pizza, but added on bacon crumbles, and the result was amazing! We also enjoyed the stuffed banana peppers. A couple of excellent guitarists were playing acoustic oldies from the 1960s in the main room; even though it was fairly busy, the servers were friendly and helpful and the food came out surprisingly quickly once we ordered. Even if it hadnt been fast, it was an enjoyable place to take a break from the road, with lots of interesting eye-catching details and a wonderful view of the river. To be sure, the next time we pass through Chester, well have to make a point of stopping by here again!
