Steak n Shake - (Near Mt Vernon, IL)

1 /5 Darren Digby: Weird smell in the store, kids meal was tiny but was still $8 with a baby shake. Honestly if this is what this chain has become I will never go to another steak n Shake. Nobody in the parking lot when we pulled up I can see why!

1 /5 Marylou Kinsey: Oh I love steak & shake,, but never coming to this one again. RUDE, MEAN, HATEFUL.. Oh dont dare be handicapped at all,, cause the guy behind the counter, the 2nd he saw my son with obvious handicapped didnt waste a split second telling him to go over to kiosk to order in a rude way and then me right behind him. As we had trouble with kiosk,, and I tried to ask questions, then a Lady said well just come on up here if you need help, but then then we told her the guy said we couldnt order there. She says who did?? I pointed the guy out then he Lied and called us liers. Wow!!! I told lady who turned out to be a manager, told her to look on security camera and you will see,, then another lady who had walked in behind us and heard everything,, told us,, she to heard the guy tell us to go over to kiosk. Then manager was not so nice to us, and acted like we were the problem. Lady, all we came in for was lunch, not all this freaking drama. Nit a good start to out Xmas trip.

1 /5 Pamela: Used to love steak and shake. Went there a couple of months ago and was treated very badly. I am older and dont know how to use the kiosk. I had called ahead to ask if I could place my order at the counter and was told by a very nice lady that I could do that. When I went to the counter to order, the young man was very rude and hateful. He told me I had to use the kiosk. I told him I had called ahead and told him what the lady had said. He got very snappy with me and said I had to use the kiosk. I just said fine, Ill go elsewhere to eat. I turned around and walked out. After reading some of the reviews about the food, I think Im lucky I didnt eat there. Its a shame. The Mt Vernon location used to be so much better than this.

5 /5 Chris Lee: Another great Steak and Shake find using Google Maps. This is a great place to experience all of your favorites and feel nostalgic at the same time. The food was great. The service was very good too. The restaurant was kept very clean. There was plenty of free parking in their large parking lot.

1 /5 SavageTiger2525: Terrible all around.. I travel a lot and love Steak n Shakes but this is by far the worse one I have ever been to.. Service was terrible.. had green mold coming out of the ice machine.. bathrooms were nasty! Like wow.. need the health department to come check this place!
