sunset tech Not sure if its open now. Excellent examlpe of 20th century railroad depot. The C&EI Depot survived abandonment in the 1970s thanks to local preservationists. In 1995, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP #95000632) for its architectural and historical significance as a well-preserved example of Prairie School-influenced rail design and its role in Salems transportation history. Owned privately by Doug and Pam Fontana since the 1990s, it underwent restoration to maintain its original features while adapting for limited commercial use.

Sean Treacy The Gizmo has cheap and tasty standard fare, counter-served: sandwhiches, burgers, fries, breakfast, fruit, ice cream, and more. I recommend the Prairie Fire Starter breakfast plate. The seating area is clean and full of light.

Christina Lexie did an excellent job when I went in to grab biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Food was hot and very good and fast service. Coffee was ready and good.

Nathaniel Hooten The hamburger was a homemade patty and not large bought packages from the store. The portions were extremely generous. The freeze could have been a little better but overall everything was great. The waitress was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. It is in an old building but we were there for the food not the atmosphere. We would go again.

Kevonna Davis This place has the best Mexican food in town! After eating here it’s hard to go anywhere else. The steak tacos and chicken nachos are what we usually have and it’s always so good.
