Jana West We have been wanting to try this for a loooonnnngggg time. We finally got the chance. I hasmd the Mac and cheese squares. Boudin balls and wings! When you cant decide, get it all! The leftovers heated up well. Everything full of flavor and fresh. The owner is so nice and you can tell he cares about his product. We cant wait to catch a soul food Saturday!

Marys Diner - Dixon

S Pak Fantastic food! Irish omelet special was phenomenal. BAST omelet spectacular. Swiss burger and make-your-own egg sandwich good. Kids chicken tenders and fries were cooked to perfection! Our picky kid ate every crumb on his plate and wished he had more. Service was good but not great. The servers were responsible for too many tables. We waited too long for our order to be taken. We also didn’t get periodic checks on our needs or subsequent orders (wanted to add something and get an order to go as we paid). Hostess & servers weren’t friendly or chatty but they may have been short-staffed or busier than usual, I don’t know. The restaurant was warm and welcoming, wasn’t too noisy, was filled with friendly customers, and had a nice small-town familiar vibe. We’ll make the trip from Woodhaven Lakes over to Mary’s when we have an omelet craving or the day turns rainy, for sure!

Saffron Social - Peoria

Rating: 4.3 /5
Mark A Saffron Social is relatively new to Peoria. Our server said they have been opened for a couple of years. I was hesitant to eat here by the very different ratings given to it on here (either very high or very low). I came for a lunch on a Friday afternoon and I am pleased to announce I had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere of this place just speaks to luxury and high end. The booths are plush and comfortable. The ceilings high. The light fixtures cast a soft golden hue. The food is a little on the expensive side, but at least for my meal, it was backed by quality. I got their short rib sandwich with fries. It is a luxurious version of a pulled pork sandwich and I really enjoyed it. Brandon provided great service. He was present but not hovering. Granted it was Friday lunch and the volume of customers were low. I had no problems with my time at Saffron Social. It was a stress free lunch where I could catch up with an old friend in gorgeous surroundings.

Hometown Café - Macomb

Robert Brown My wife and I stopped here for dinner. I had the best chicken fried steak that I have eaten in ages. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The portions were more than enough. Was traveling on vacation when we came across this restaurant. My wife loved her meal as well. It was more than she could eat, so took a portion back to our hotel. Definitely recommend!
