1 /5 4SEEZ: This was our first time using their service for an event of 150 guests. The mac and cheese and the beans were good, though not exceptional. However, there were too many issues that made the overall experience disappointing. Communication felt inconsistent from the beginning, and that same lack of communication continued throughout the event.
We were told the team would arrive at 5:30 PM to set up and that dinner would be served at 6:30 PM. Unfortunately, that did not happen. For an event of this size, at least four experienced servers should have been present to manage the serving line efficiently. Instead, there were only two people — the owner and one other helper — which made service feel unprepared and overwhelmed. Industry standards recommend 5–6 servers for 150+ guests, not two.
Regarding the food, the Italian beef was placed on hamburger buns, which made the presentation less appealing. Some guests enjoyed the chicken, while others said it was dry, so the feedback was mixed. The salad was supposed to include red onions; however, some plates had none and some had only one or two thin slices. The dressing portion was very minimal, and additional dressing was not placed on the tables so guests could add more if needed — again, a clear lack of communication. Several guests also mentioned that the buns were hard, which affected the overall meal experience. Some guests mentioned that the brownies were hard and overly rich, which affected their enjoyment of dessert.
One of the biggest disappointments was the beverages. We ordered lemonade and iced tea, yet both ran out extremely quickly. When asked about it, the owner said she had portioned 8 oz per person. For 150 guests, she brought only 11 gallons total. That means guests were only expected to have one small drink with no option for a second serving — which is unreasonable for any catered event. When the drinks ran out, guests were given water straight from the faucet. Many were understandably upset, especially since that was not what was discussed or expected.
There were simply too many moments where things felt unorganized and ill-prepared. I truly believe this event may have been too large for them to handle, and the pressure showed. Professionalism, preparation, and communication were lacking, and those areas are critical for a successful event of this size.
I hope this feedback helps the business grow stronger and ensures more consistency for future clients.
