3 /5 Manal Hajire: The Vig West Loop is a really nice spot, pretty big space and the host was lovely! At first, service was great, but later on we kept getting helped by different servers, which felt a bit confusing but not terrible. The food was yummy, we got the beet & ricotta salad (rich and flavorful, with that perfect mix of sweet, sour, and salty), and the calamari was tasty but could’ve been a bit more for the price.
I also tried the fried chicken sandwich, which came with mac & cheese. Both were good, though the mac & cheese didn’t really taste like mac & cheese to me (more like a pink pasta, but still super good).
We didn’t end up getting dessert because service got really slow, waited about 45 minutes for our check and had to wave down multiple servers. It might’ve just been because it got busy later in the night. Then had to wait another 20min for someone to take my card, had to walk from my table to a server with my card.
Overall, I’d rate it 7/10. I’d definitely come back at a different time of day to try more items on the menu.
