4 /5 C R: Review written 12/12/2025. Watch the prices that ring up at the register or get an itemized receipt because almost every transaction here they ring up more than the price posted. For example a stuffed animal here rang up $11 but was tagged at $10 on the sticker And the bottles of Mello Yello are listed as 2 for $2.22 but they ring up as 2 for $3.00 Also for marketing them as the cleanest bathrooms, there are more things to consider than cleanliness. Almost every toilet here that I’ve used has weak flushing pressure and can barely even flush a few pieces of toilet paper. Also the popcorn is hit or miss. I visited here several times lately on the way to and from Chicago, and one of the “fresh” popcorns I got was tasteless and stale and not of the usual quality. Also the Mello Yello on the fountain spout is almost all just syrup, and not much carbonation. Also there’s not many options in the grab and go fresh food area that don’t have meat in them. This really limits options for vegetarians. I wanted to get grapes and cheese yesterday but none was available (out of stock), they had plenty of sausage and cheese etc though but that limits options for vegetarians. Also the checkout process point of sale has on the screen to enter Loyalty ID but yet the cashiers tell me there’s not a loyalty program. So which is it?? Hopefully management reads this review and makes updates accordingly However overall this is a cool location and very clean

5 /5 David Stejkowski: Wally’s – Pontiac, IL We loved our stop at Wally’s. It reminded us of Buc-ee’s, but honestly, it’s better for us—cleaner, less overwhelming, and just as fun. The place has everything: spotless restrooms, great grab-and-go food, coffee, jerky, popcorn, and all kinds of souvenirs and travel essentials. It’s more than a gas station—it’s a destination.

5 /5 Mitch Adam: This was my first time visiting a Wallys. Huge variety of candy, drinks, and snacks. Restrooms were clean (but far from "the cleanest restrooms in Illinois", as advertised). I like the large variety of beverages and the wall of jerky, and the popcorn stand inside smells so good. I got a brisket sandwich, which was pretty good, but a little pricey at $7.50. They have a large selection of alcohol products as well. There is 80 total gas pumps, so no lines! I really enjoyed my short time there, and I think the hype lived up to the experience, but not quite a Buc-ees!

5 /5 Matt Zurek: Wallys is an experience. It is absolutely HUGE. I was driving to Bloomington and needed gas, Wallys was the best price. There are plenty of pumps and no waiting. I moved my car to the parking lot, as I approached the store entrance, I passed by about eight Tesla charging stations. There what seemed to be generic charging stations across the aisle they were covered in tarps, maybe they are still being installed? As I walked into the store I was greeted by the smell of freshly popped popcorn. Just like a movie theater and since the popcorn machines are nowhere near the entrance that was deliberate, it worked as I did walk out with a large bag of popcorn. There is a lot of Wallys branded merchandise, including coffee mugs, t-shirts, hoodies, plush toys, and nick-nacks. They have five dedicated counters: popcorn, coffee/barista, jerky and sausages, BBQ (brisket, pork, I think they had a catfish too), and bakery. They also have 60 self-service flavor fountain options (Im serious I counted there were 60). The jerky was good, but at $29 a pound I do not know if it a good price. Three pieces was $4.00. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained, they were hotel level bathrooms...at a gas station. Worth a stop.

2 /5 L G: First impression driving south to St. Louis was great loved the brisket sandwich everyone was super nice after midday. Driving back decided to make it my pit stop but was so dissatisfied by the staff and their system. Apparently you have to know which cashier to use to prepay gas since they all don’t have access to all pump transactions!!! If you wait in the wrong line to prepay gas you will have to go to another line w a different cashier. Note they do not have signs providing specific cashiers for specific pumps so your expected to know !!!! Staff in the morning is not helpful at all they just shrug their shoulders and say nothing they can do!!! Not exactly great for a travel pit stop !!
