Brown Butter Depot - (Near Gretna, LA)

5 /5 Cassi Tran: Cute neighborhood spot for brunch or lunch. The boudin egg rolls were interesting with the cream cheese and pepper jelly (more sweet than spicy). Gumbo was dark and smoky with plenty of meats! The highlight for me was the club sandwich which is MASSSIVE. Piled high and not shy, it was enough to share for two people. I upgraded to the pimento mac and cheese, which were ok but nothing of point. I recommend sticking to the fries for the crunch with the club. My partner got the bleu shroom burger and it was just the right amount of funk and saltiness. Ill definitely come back for my own burger!

5 /5 Jen Doyle: Update!! I went back to Brown Butter a couple of days ago and everything was delicious. Love the atmosphere. Our waitress Savannah was excellent! My boyfriend and I went a little while ago today. It was great. Great food and great service. Keep up the good work!

4 /5 Laura Beltemacchi: Great burgers! For starters we had salty, salty, salty gumbo. I split the brunch burger with a friend and we enjoyed the surprise flavors from the jelly and quickly became addicted to the fries with garlic dip. I finished off with a generous side salad of fresh ingrediants. Their outside seating looks to be a great place to sit and visit with friends in the summer although it was a little chilly for me to test in late December.

I came for a friend’s birthday, who loved them since their old location in Mid-City, and we were a very large group but the restaurant was very accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their food, and our server was great! I ordered the Korean BBQ burger, and although I wished it had more sauce, it was still pretty delicious. The debris fries and the fried pickles were also delicious! There was a lot of parking because we went on a Sunday, when all the surrounding parking is free.

5 /5 Lord Scratch: Absolutely stellar experience. We went on a Sunday night around 7pm, easily seated outside. We started with the fried pickles. Perfectly lightly fried with fresh dill sprinkled on top. It was heavenly. For dinner, I had the blue cheese and shroom burger add bacon with truffle fries. The burger was perfectly cooked, the dong phong bun was sweet and soft. The blue cheese and mushrooms complimented the burger wonderfully without overpowering it. The fries were crispy and delicious. I highly recommend upgrading from garlic fries to truffle fries. We split a creme Brule for dessert and it was a hit. The staff was all polite and approachable. They just knocked it out of the park. Its a great addition to Old Gretna and I cant wait to get back.
