Cajun Cafe On The Bayou - (Near Labadieville, LA)

1 /5 Taylor Achord: The people at this restaurant are absolutely amazing and very kind. Service was quick given the fact its a small business. The food on the other hand was not the best. My fiance and grandma had the roast beef sandwhich. Grandma has lived in labadieville a long time and used to go there often, but hasnt been in a quite a while. She said her sandwhich was not good and only ate half. This is coming from a person who LOVES roast beef poboys. My fiance said that the meat tasted like it wasnt evenly seasoned. Some bites were very salty while others were really bland. I ordered the Yaya pasta with blackened chicken. It sounded very good on the menu, but the sauce was extremely underseasoned and watery. Unfortunately to me it kinda of tasted like tap water. The chicken wasnt seasoned much either, it did not taste peppery. I do also beleive the items are overpriced for the portion size. For all three meals with no drinks it was $51.00.

5 /5 Mike Cortez: Dont let this little cafe, literally on the bayou, fool you. The food here is excellent. Ive been here 3 times so far and will be returning with friends. Everyone here was nice, helpful, and likes to talk. The front parking along the street is a little small but theres more room next door. So take a little ride outside of Thibodeaux to Labedieville for some good Cajun cookin.

5 /5 David Frank: First, this may be the friendliest restaurant I have ever had the pleasure to have lunch. Secondly, the food was outstanding. We had the boudin balls as an appetizer. They arrive hot and delicious. I ordered the seafood platter with onion rings. The fried food was light and tasty. The fish was not fishy like many places I’ve eaten at other locations. The butterfly shrimp were large and satisfying. My only suggestion would be to cook the oysters a minute less, but they were still not over cooked. The generous portions of homemade roast beef on the poboy was extremely filling and we took home half a sandwich. My teenage son ordered the shrimp egg rolls and didn’t leave any for sharing. This was a great place to stop for lunch and I can say if we’re ever in the area, we will be back.

5 /5 CAL BREAUX: We ate at the Cafe’ today for lunch & met the owner & her mother the cook! Speaking with them my husband knows her father & other relatives! It’s a small world after all! LOL! Our waitress was very attentive to our needs! It’s a small hometown cafe’ & the food was extremely good! We will go back for breakfast one day soon! We will be back & bring others with us! Very friendly & a quaint atmosphere.
