Clubhouse Bistro -Food CA (Near Plaquemine)

1 /5 Laurie Rials: Two of us were visiting the area and asked for a recommendation for lunch. Clubhouse Bistro was recommended and we were told they had an all you could eat wing special. My friend is a wing fan, so we decided to go for lunch. We waited approximately 10 minutes before Carlos came to take our order. We asked our server, Carlos, about the special. We were told there was no special today. I told Carlos, we were told there was a special, even the lady at the front said there was a special. Carlos said, no special. We ordered salad and shrimp poboy. When looking at their Facebook page, it showed the all day wing special for today. Obviously, there was a wing special today. This was my first time at Clubhouse Bistro and will also be my last.

3 /5 Susie LeJeune: Tonight, I started my meal with a rather weak, oddly (to me) sweet old-fashioned. I could barely taste the whiskey. The boudin balls were delicious, among the best I’ve had, but these were followed by a salad composed of extremely large lettuce leaves absolutely smothered in dressing. 2 pet peeves of mine: when the salad leaves aren’t chopped to at least a decently small size, and there’s more dressing than green visible on the plate. The filet was great - cooked properly and full of flavor. Unfortunate were the accompanying green beans. I prefer my green beans to be slightly al dente; these were as limp as the canned green beans at your mother-in-law’s Thanksgiving table. As for dessert - turtle brownie sundae - the ice cream and turtle toppings were satisfying, but I could’ve kept my steak knife for the brownie and used the edge of the brownie to hammer a nail. The service was great and the restaurant is cute, but I definitely wasn’t wowed.

4 /5 Renee Turnbow: Had lunch here yesterday with a friend. The view of the golf course is beautiful. Was surprised with the quality of silverware. I had the shrimp wrap with onion rings. The onion rings were generous and very good. Shrimp wrap could have used a few more shrimp for the price and less butter or oil, whatever leaked all over me and my plate. Waitress was attentive and offered a to go drink for us.

3 /5 Jennifer Foor: Positives: Food was delicious. I had the chicken Parmesan… Amazing! Negatives: 1) Servers were doing the best they could. Understaffed for Sunday lunch. 2) Cheap tables, chairs and just about everything else. It was so noisy inside the dining area you couldn’t even hear yourself talk to the person next to you. Do something about the room. 3) For what you charge for the food, I expect a better atmosphere

3 /5 Traveling Nana: I went here because on line it said that Tuesday had a lunch special of endless chicken wings and fries. We got there, and it took about 10 minutes before the server even acknowledged us. He brought our water, but it was another 10 minutes before he took our order. He had 2 tables with big groups. There were other tables with a different server who was able to wait on people who came after us and got served. Im not sure why we were seated in an area where the waiter was overwhelmed. I asked about the special, and he had no clue. He said he could make my wings, but by then, I didnt want to wait. So I had the chopped salad instead. You think he would have gone to check, but no. The food was good, but the service was definitely lacking. If you are going to offer a special you should make sure that your people know about it.
