Alexis Martorello Mama’s Kitchen was recommended to us by Dominique at the Whitney Plantation when we asked where we could find authentic southern food. My partner ordered the gumbo and the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn. I had the fried chicken and fries. My partner summed it up perfectly as we were heading back to NOLA: “It didn’t feel like a restaurant. It felt like we were sitting at someone’s table and mom was cooking in the kitchen.” The service, food, and atmosphere were all truly wonderful!

Charla Barnett Pujos offers a very inviting atmosphere with an amazing ambience. Our visit was for a Saturday brunch and found it to be a very family oriented eating establishment. It provides a numerous amount of seating arrangements including an outdoor weather protected area with a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. The indoor area has ample seating even for large groups. They even provide a private special event room. There was very little wait time. With a centrally located bar. Our waitresss name was Sydney. She was so charming, witty and engaging, while meeting our every need. I would highly recommend her as she would certainly be an excellent waitress request. The food is outstanding! I had the 3 egg omelet with onions,green bell peppers,mushrooms,tomatoes and cheese. My husband had the Pujo Banana French Toast and my Son had the Contraband Benedict with Amaratto raspberry cheesecake. Perfect coffee and Orange juice. You will not go away hungry.

Elizabeth Medus Stopped in at Walk-On’s and had a great experience. Our server, Kayla, was genuinely one of the highlights of the visit. She was friendly, on top of everything, and made sure we had everything we needed without us ever having to ask. Her timing was perfect, and she gave great recommendations that ended up being spot-on. The service felt really smooth and attentive the whole time, even though the place was pretty busy. You can tell she knows what she’s doing and actually cares about making sure guests have a good experience. Definitely recommend asking for Kayla if you’re coming in — she made our visit awesome and we’ll absolutely be back!

Chassity Oubre The food was home cooked, fresh and delicious. The étouffée gravy is very delicious and the sweet tea is the best, because its not that sweet but also not bitter. Our waitress was very nice as well.
