Petra Restaurant & Lounge - Laplace

Chris Pickrell An excellent and quiet little place. I had the soup du jour, picture attached. It had finely diced tomato chunks, excellent flavor, and was well present. I did not rely on heavy cream to explode with flavor. It was quite salty, which I prefer, but some may find it too much. I followed that with the Petra Pasta. It was full of seafood, to the point of nearly overpowering the cream sauce. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the portion was very generous. The waitress was polite, helpful, and kept a quiet distance. Just enough to be attentive without interrupting. The surrounding shopping plaza is a little off putting, but this a definitely worth trying.

Ephraim Fields Great food and excellent service! Our whole group enjoyed their meals. I ordered the seafood platter with fried fish and shrimp, it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for quality food and a great dining experience in the area.

Cave Arnold Very good seafood. Amie was an excellent waitress. I had the fried shrimp and it was yummy. We all had a delightful time dining. Will plan to go again when visiting the area. They have free WiFi and ample parking. The restrooms were clean and well lit.

Viktoria Great drinks! Delicious food! I was a tourist in NOLA strolling through the Garden District when I was drawn in by the beautiful tables set up outside this restaurant. What really caught my attention, though, was a menu item I had never tried before: green fried tomatoes. As a tourist, my curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to walk in. I was warmly greeted by Jasmine, who kindly showed me the different seating options — a lovely back section, the front dining area, and the patio outside. My server, Dominique, was absolutely wonderful. She was very friendly, easy to talk to, and made the whole lunch experience even better. We had a great conversation about local traditions, history and cuisine, and it was clear she was very knowledgeable and genuinely passionate. A fantastic conversationalist! For drinks, I ordered their Bloody Caesar, cleverly named “Hair of the Red Dog” — such a cute and fitting name. And of course, I had to try the fried green tomatoes. They were absolutely delicious and lived up to the hype. A big thank you to Jasmine and Dominique for such a great experience and amazing food. Wishing you all the best — I’ll definitely remember this meal fondly!

Andrea F I do love a cute place with a theme that is serious. I had the Mr Darcy tea that had notes of cherry and dark chocolate, because I do love Mr Darcy! I had the Birmingham bake, which was eggs, cheese, bacon topped with cheese and bacon, a side of fruit and a croissant. The service was perfect, the prices were very reasonable. There are a few steps up, but there was a handicap lift on the side. I will definitely come back.

Edie Trammel What a wonderful place to have dinner with my daughter! The food was delicious, we split a burger & chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was excellent as were the fries. The burger was ok. And golly the cornbread! Yum! My daughter enjoyed an Old Fashioned and I had a Mule Mocktail. Great atmosphere! Our server, Courtney was awesome! Super friendly, attentive and just made our evening out perfect!
