5 /5 Adam & Lana - The Crains: A Wonderful Central LA Find! ​This wasnt our first choice, but we are so glad we found Mamas Oyster House! ​Atmosphere & Service: Great central Louisiana local vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. ​Starters: Tried the grilled gator bites, raw oysters, and mini meat pies. All were delicious and high-quality. ​Highlights: We sampled the BBQ oysters, Oysters Rockefeller, and Catfish Acadiana. Every dish was excellent. ​MUST-TRY: The Seafood Gumbo was absolutely amazing and the highlight of the meal. ​Highly recommend! Well be back soon.

1 /5 Kayla Porche: A muffuletta is supposed to have olives. I asked where the olives were and they said there was an olive spread… where??? There was zero. Then when I asked the waitress she had no idea what I was talking about. It just got worse from there. Our queso didn’t come out ahead of our food. When it arrived, what was supposed to be Tasso Queso was just a bowl of melted Velveeta. There was nothing in it. Definitely no Tasso. My husband’s pancakes and chicken strips came with what was obviously microwave frozen pancakes. He asked for syrup three times and when it was brought out, after we were all ready to leave, it was one condiment packet of syrup. His pancakes were cold and tough by that point. He ate them anyway because he’s like that. This was a super disappointing meal. Won’t be back and definitely won’t recommend.

5 /5 DJ: Stopped in at Papas while walking around Natchitoches while staying a couple nights for the Zwolle Tamale Festival. One gal taking care of the entire restaurant on a Friday night, but she was efficient and friendly and stayed on top of everything. Kitchen was turning out food at a good pace as well. Good menu with lots of choices. The fried mushrooms were some of the best we have ever had. We both had grilled chicken sandwiches and the portion was big, cooked perfectly, and also came with fries. Only disappointment was Pepsi products. Wife is a coke-aholic, but they did have some awesome sweet tea that she enjoyed. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
