Shell - (Near Oberlin, LA)

Manuel Soto Indoor outdoor dining. We chose outdoor. Great day for outdoor. Lots of shade with decent breeze. Easy to converse and, at this time bug free. We ate thier buffet food. One word, Excellent. Fried fish was awesome. The salad was fresh, the pasta was outstanding. Everything was awesome. Our waitress was fantastic. Definately going back. Highly recommend!

Ed Virtue Delicious food, served quickly, it is fresh and flavorful and the setting just above the Ouachita River is cool. It has a bit of a dive-bar/restaurant feel if im being honest. Menus are a bit tattered. Not pictured are the red beans and rice, which are my favorite, absolutely a must if you stop by. Portions are generous and the servers are always attentive and efficient too. Pictured are the half and half, (half fried crawfish tails, half etouffee) and seafood platter, both are really good.

Caitlyn Rhodes The food was out quick and was fresh. Loved the cheese sticks and the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. Our waitress was very attentive. We will be back!

Stefan Maronge What a delightful find while visiting my Mom in Houma. The food and atmosphere were great. We started with the Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer. I got the Seafood Stuffed Avocado and my Mom got the grilled shrimp. I hope to come back again!

Papa J Update: This is still one of my favorite restaurants. If you have never been here, I highly recommend that you try it. Additional update: A GREAT BURGER! My wife ordered a burger, and we love burgers. I didnt expect to get a great hamburger here but it was one of the best - with grilled onions, a smoky barbeque sauce, and cooked perfectly medium rare. This place continues to amaze. This is one of my highest 5 star ratings and my favorite restaurant. The service is always excellent. Almost everything weve ever had there ranks among the better or best that weve had anywhere. On this day my wife had eggs Benedict but chooses to have it on their fluffy biscuit. I had the Grilled Chicken Bella Salad. The pecans, cranberries, and apple give it a fresh taste with lots of different textures. If you come on Sunday morning for brunch, expect a wait but its worth it.

Brian Staed Chartres House was a great pick in the Quarter. The red beans and rice with fried chicken hit perfectly, and the boudin balls were the standout of the meal. Relaxed atmosphere, good portions, and everything tasted fresh. Definitely a spot I’d go back to.
