Mazen Grill - Lafayette

Rating: 4.7 /5
COMMUNITY HANDYMAN My wife and I are down here from Wisconsin for a quick getaway and we were lucky enough to have been invited to The Mazen Grill by an amazing couple local to the area. The Mazen is an amazing old school Lafeyette Louisiana restaurant. We had some steak, crab and the scoufle at the end was amazing. Great server who really knew his stuff too. Go there, just go. WOW !

The MELTDOWN - Farmerville

Rating: 5 /5
Lance Carter Friendly owners, fast service, and fantastic snow cones. The shaved ice is a fine powered and melts easily in your mouth. They are adding new flavors and add-ons weekly. Tent outside of stand needs to be larger and over the order window that way if its raining you can still get snow cones.

Legrecia Johnson I did a to-go order and it started to rain while I was waiting. The staff offered to bring my food to the car, which I really appreciated. I live in Simsboro, and when I got home the food was still hot. Everything was well seasoned and the salsa was spicy but I enjoyed it. My mom and I ordered the quesabirria tacos, one beef gordita, one steak sope, a mango agua fresca, and a chimichanga meal. I plan to come back and try more items from the menu.

Ron Haggerton The Myrtle’s OMG! There are very few words amazing enough to describe this place. Between the history and stories, the amazing grounds, and the atmosphere, this place would be worth the stop anyway. The food is stunning. We started with the fire baked bread. It is cooked on an open flame and it is incredible. Then we had the short rib and the red fish. The short rib was so flavorful and rich that it should be illegal. The grits and sauce complement it perfectly. The redfish was really good, but the crawfish risotto was good beyond words. I think it could be the best side I have ever tasted. The flavor was bold and the rice was perfectly cooked. This is officially my new favorite meal of all time. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Food is cooked on an open flame with an amazing grill system that is fun to watch. The wood fire makes the room cozy and warm. Our server, Maddy was great! I have lived 45 minutes from here for a while and never been here. We are spending the night and hoping the nights as good as the meal. My advice if you are considering eating here is that it is worth the drive, cost and chance of meeting a ghost.
