5 /5 Ralph Dunne: An Italian Classic Done Right
Venezia Restaurant is one of those places that simply gets it right—authentic Italian food, great service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that keeps you coming back.
I always sit at the bar, and that’s no accident. Amy, the bartender, is excellent—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. She has that rare ability to make you feel like a regular whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth. The service is relaxed but professional, and you’re never left waiting for anything.
The food is consistently outstanding. While Venezia is an Italian restaurant, their steak night is still worth mentioning—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The cheese bread is a must-order, the calamari is light and crispy without being greasy, and the spinach and artichoke bread is rich, comforting, and absolutely addictive. Everything tastes fresh, well-prepared, and true to the Italian comfort-food experience.
What really completes the experience is the atmosphere. On certain nights, there’s a live piano player, which adds a classy, old-world Italian feel without being over the top. It creates a relaxed, enjoyable vibe that makes you want to linger, talk, and actually enjoy your evening instead of rushing through a meal.
Venezia is the kind of Italian restaurant that becomes a favorite—great food, excellent service, and an atmosphere that feels both familiar and special. If you’re in Gretna and looking for a place that delivers every single time, this is it.
