5 /5 Will Bonam: Incredible Date Night! ​My girlfriend and I came into San Jose Mexican Bar & Grill for dinner and were blown away. We are locals in Waterford and decided to dine in, and I’m glad we did. ​First off, the drinks are serious business here. We ordered a Piña Colada and a Jumbo House Margarita (I highly recommend adding the Coconut flavor like we did—it adds a great tropical twist). They were huge, refreshing, and definitely didnt skimp on the alcohol. ​For food, we ordered two main dishes that I have to rave about: ​Birria Jalisco: If you are looking for authentic flavor, this is it. The meat was slow-cooked to perfection—super tender and juicy. It came with the consommé for dipping which was rich, spicy, and deeply savory. ​Ribeye Chicharron: This was a standout. It’s ribeye steak chunks but cooked with that chicharron-style crispiness on the outside while staying tender on the inside. The seasoning was spot on. ​The bill was very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality of the cuts. We left stuffed and will definitely be coming back!

1 /5 Angela Schoneman: We are locals that have been coming here since it opened. Found our new favorite Mexican restaurant. Came here weekly. The staff knew what combo we ordered everytime. They just changed the menu and got rid of all the combos. Now you have to build it and its a lot more expensive. Not worth the hassle or added expense. They just lost a regular. Not happy. Bring back the old menu or we wont be back!!

5 /5 Kate McFarland: Queso is always a must. I always get the Arroz con Pollo add cheese sauce or Arroz con Camarones add cheese sauce. It is my go-to spot for this specific dish because the service is fast and the dish is consistent. I have been a loyal customer frequenting multiple times a year for at least 5 years.

4 /5 Erick Price: Food is slightly better than most Mexican restaurants in Detroit. I highly recommend it! FYI, if they serve fried fish it’s usually in the authentic side of the Mexican restaurant industry. Waitresses were very nice and hospitable will definitely come again.
