Peachy Keen This place feels like being welcomed into a friend’s family home that warm, grandmother’s kitchen kind of atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. The hospitality here is genuinely heartwarming and makes every visit special. Their soups are absolutely exceptional. Both the lentil and chicken soups are perfection in a bowl I’ve honestly lost count of how many times I’ve ordered them. Even my kids, who can be picky eaters, love coming here. The fresh salads are another highlight crisp, vibrant, and clearly made with quality ingredients. While the food isn’t fancy or pretentious, it’s undeniably delicious. What I especially appreciate is their commitment to seasonal cooking. The specials change regularly based on what’s fresh, so there’s always something new to discover alongside your favorites. This is the kind of authentic Middle Eastern hospitality and home style cooking that nourishes both body and soul. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort food that’s made with genuine care and love.

jeanine williams We had rib tips, fried catfish, fried turkey chops, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, & collards. And I got to sample the gumbo (my first time trying it), which was delish. The catfish was very nicely fried. All the other meats were tender and everything was good and tasty! Friendly staff. Great service. Didnt have to wait long to get our food.

Jaime Recommend! Very nice spot for lunch. We love trying out places while visiting in Ann Arbor and came across Union Rec. Everyone was very welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious, especially my new favorite the jalapeño sweet mash, there is something for everyone on the menu too all styles of food. The atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable.

Stela M The tables are pretty small but since only two of us I get it and we always work it out and I like that the tables (I think) give more room in between each group but I still dont like the size. I sat at the perfect table because I had somewhere to put my walker. The walker fit in the corner well and saw another person farther away who put theirs against another wall. I dont trust people because since born with disability and learning what people are willing to do to ruin others lives, I would never set somewhere at a distance. You can do either, and giving you options because every disability and person is different. The main walkway there is only enough for one way. There were tables in the back but the hostess asked (my sister) if that was an issue for me. The food was amazing. The omelets. Get the omelet. I love veggies and seafood...( I wish they had a seafood) type but know if you love veggies, you will love that one. My sister loved the ribeye omelet. The beignets. The beignets baby. It was perfect because it is in my novel Im writing so taking notes about them on my phone but the inner kid in me felt like I was in Louisiana with Tiana. They are delicious, sweet, puffy and melt in your mouth. Baby. You will be happy and your tongue will have sweet dreams after. I love guava and my sister noticed the guava lemonade. I enjoyed it very much. If you have a sweet tooth it is amazing. There are a few things with disability related things I would hope they can tweak. I did not go to the restroom so will check it next time. The waiting area is great and the handicap parking I wonder about wheelchair ramp and things. Im glad mine will be in the back but if not you may need to drop off like we did this time. I know many dont like or are despised with DEI and they dont believe in it. Being black, a woman and with a disability I see so much. Here is one tip that I hope the owner reads. When the waitress/waiter asked about seating and if I can sit or be at whichever section... She asked my sister. She did not look at me at all. She made me feel like I had no voice or choice. Many think the disabled can not make up their mind, communicate or lack of education, etc. Many people get this wrong. I made a mistake and startled her when I responded and said where I would like to sit. I later let her know while leaving that I have three degrees and that is not to brag but please dont read a book by its cover. She was pleasant and nice and a smile that would bloom flowers and have that famous Snow White scene but that is the one think that for the disability community is annoying. Waitress Patricia. She is darling, nice and will answer any questions you may have. Alyssa- Made sure every door was opened for me and a pinch of chit chat. She has a genuine spirit and notice of details.

Neal Bakshi How this place got 4.4 stars is beyond me. The food is delicious (although a tad pricy), the service is highly attentive and top notch, and the atmosphere is nice and clean. We went on a Wednesday night and it was not that busy. The decor is nice and the bathrooms are clean. The small plates all look so good, but we went with the brussel sprouts and feta which we would absolutely order again. The former better than the latter in my opinion. The salmon entree was perfect and has we only ordered these 3 dishes, we would’ve been completely satiated. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs however and we got the vegan paella as well, which we mostly ended up taking home. This place is a great spot for a date night, night out with friends, or other upscale but not too fancy dinner. Great food and truly stand out service.
