The Windjammer Bar and Grill - (Near Lexington, MI)

John Zadikian You would think fulfulling a craving for dine-in Chinese food on an early Sunday afternoon would be easy. Thanks to two places closer to my home being confirmed closed when their Google listing had them as open, China Bowl was the days winner, and Im glad it was. The egg rools were hot and crispy; the chicken rice soup was fresh and flavorful; and the pepper steak, General Tsos chicken, vegetables, and fried rice were on point - very tasty, but not overpowering with salt or other flavors. There were two women working their tails off in the front of the house dealing with an increasing number of dine-in customers and carry-out orders. (Bonus points to the little boy running around and passing out fortune cookies and other items. He was cute and generated a few laughs with his infectious smile.) China Bowl is clean and updated, but not overdone with decorations. The only reason Im giving four stars for atmosphere is because one table was filled with empty carry-out boxes, napkins, etc., and similar items were found on tables in another area of the dining room. Maybe thats necessary because of the size of the room, but, in my opinion, those items should be hidden from diners. Ill definitely be back - and soon!

Haleigh Clark Drinks and food were good. The mozzarella sticks were definitely the best dish we had there! The burgers were good and so were the fries! The grilled chicken on the salad was so incredibly dry. The dressing did not help at all. I would not recommend ordering a salad. The garlic parmesan wings were delicious! The nash chicken sandwich was also very good! The bowling was such a great time!! We had a blast playing the yard games as well! We cant wait to come back!

larry Hollinger As a native Louisiana boy, Im always skeptical when places try to recreate the New Orleans vibe and cuisine—most end up feeling touristy and miss the mark. But this spot? Not even close. The ingredients taste like they were flown in straight from the Big Easy, and you can feel generations of soul in every bite. We had the Étouffée, Jambalaya, and Gumbo Yaya—all absolutely delicious. And hey, I didn’t have to cook them myself, so that’s always a win. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere genuinely made me feel like I’d been teleported home. If youre looking to experience Louisiana without the long drive, I highly recommend this place. My only minor critique: the Étouffée sauce had a touch too much flour, which made it slightly grainy, and the rice was a bit overcooked. But those are small things when the flavors are this on point.

Sarah Smith We went here for the first time yesterday for lunch. We will definitely be back! The food was mouth watering and served with large portions. We ordered the the PB N T burger and the pulled pork. Kiddos had some simple grilled cheese and chicken tenders. Everything arrived quickly and accurately. They also have very reasonable pricing for kids meals, which is refreshing. Our service with Shay was also outstanding! Cant say enough good things about this place, it was a big hit all around.

Alexander Wong Great Soul food. The only place I know that has fried ribs. They do NOT have fried corn on the cob however. It was a bit hard to hear the lady and for her to me through the window and the music playing. There is also very minimal seating. Only 2 small tables for 2 and 1 table for 4.
