Council Rock Brewery - (Near Cooperstown, NY)

5 /5 Rob Gilleece: We visited Cooperstown from New Jersey and found this small brewery just a few miles away. There are other breweries in the area but Im glad I found this one! Kyle runs the place and welcomed us warmly. We found four seats at a community table with no wait. I suppose if the place was crowded there might be a wait but its worth it. We tried the soups, the fried green beans, and the pretzel and all were high quality. The French onion soup was particularly good. We then proceeded to have sandwiches and the shrimp poboy got rave reviews. The servings were large and there was a nice choice of fries on the side (to include sweet potato and pesto garlic fries). The beer was also a great find; I had a flight and took home two of them in a crowler. Everyone was very nice, a real family feel to the place. We made friends with other people there, in alignment with the whole vibe. Looking forward to going back someday!

5 /5 Elizabeth Fitzgerald: WINGS!! Kyle’s wings at Council Rock are to die for—smoked to perfection (not fried!) and slathered in his special sauce. They’re definitely worth the trip into town! We love pairing them with the pesto fries and sweet potato tots. Just a heads-up—they only sell wings on Wednesdays. They also offer two cocktails: a classic margarita and a seasonal option like apple pie or white peach, all delicious, plus beer. I’ve also heard the Friday Fish Fry is fantastic and look forward to trying it soon. Highly recommend!

5 /5 David: Wow, just let them tell you the specials and your mouth will water. Some of the best food in Cooperstown. Also some of the most genuinely nice people and probably best service we’ve had in the town. I don’t think you can really go wrong ordering anything other than maybe the salad, it looked pretty basic. Burgers are cooked to perfection, if you want to feel like you’ve died and gone to heaven, order the pesto garlic fries. Fried green beans with secret aoli sauce are also just as delicious. Pastrami was a great, reminded me of a Rueben a bit. House chips were crisp. All around great experience. Don’t expect to play wiffle ball here, but expect great food, great service, and great beer. A couple or a few families could be accommodated, but not likely a whole team. And if you do come, keep your kids in check, nobody wants to deal unruly children.
