Glenmere Mansion Hotel Restaurant and Spa - (Near Chester, NY)

1 /5 Rick Whittaker: This hotel was an enormous disappointment: poorly maintained, visibly run down, and nowhere near worth the price. The food was also subpar. Most unacceptable was the Tavern Restaurant maître d’, whose rude, dismissive behavior toward guests was shocking and entirely inappropriate. We will certainly not return, and we strongly advise others not to waste their time or money here. There are far better options available that actually respect their guests and deliver what they promise.

1 /5 Richard Hooban: Found staff rude and rather incompetent. Food a touch above McDonalds. Not worth the 20 minute drive. Hard to believe it’s a Relais and Chateau- definitely a drop beneath it. A touch run down, a touch drab, a touch tired. Deferred maintenance. The grounds outside were covered in excrement - see photo - found it a fitting metaphor- mostly for the service but one could say the food as well. If you are expecting Relais and Chateau quality- save yourself the time and disappointment.

5 /5 Yuliya Lubin: Tucked away in the Hudson Valley, just an hour from NYC, Glenmere Mansion transports you to another era. This Italian-inspired villa, now a boutique hotel, is part of Relais & Châteaux and truly lives up to the reputation. We’ve stayed here overnight and also visited for the day to enjoy their spa and delicious farm-to-table dining—and every visit is an unforgettable experience. The grounds are meticulously maintained, the interior design is breathtaking, and the service is exceptional. Their restaurant serves incredible breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with ingredients sourced locally or even from their own farm. The spa is unique, featuring a private Turkish hammam that makes every visit feel rejuvenating. Every time we go, we leave feeling refreshed and inspired—and we can’t wait to return.

5 /5 Kristie Crossley: We were gifted a trip here, what an incredible experience. The food was amazing, great flavor, beautiful presentation and the freshness was 5 stars, the staff were so helpful and accommodating, Peter our butler had a great knowledge of the property and the history, the spa staff was top notch, not at all pushy with the products they used during the service. Which in turn had me purchasing what was suggested. Front desk and wait staff were also wonderful, the entire experience was one that make you feel important, like you were the only guest in the place. We will for sure made a return trip.

5 /5 YWS: We just had a first-time visit to Glenmere for a fall getaway from NYC. Everything was top-notch. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and the room/maintenance service went above and beyond--we needed some help with electrical appliances (apparently there was some power outage incident shortly before our arrival) and they were super attentive to our request, and we never had the more attentive room/maintenance service ever!! The meals and service were spectacular at the restaurant/tavern. Kudos to the service staff: they were knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. The food was wonderful--the menu reflected the season and the regional bounty (by procuring great ingredients from local farmers) and represented the Hudson Valley bounty in the best light possible. We loved the fillet-mignon and various ways the chef used beautiful regional mushrooms, vegetables and apples/pears. The wine sommelier lady (with dark hair in ponytail--we did not get her name) was uber-knowledgeable, relatable and helpful...we loved her!!! We also enjoyed the spa massage experience. Our massage therapists were absolutely professional and attentive. Overall, we came away feeling absolutely pampered..and are already discussing our next trip to Glenmere.
