Sometimes their son is the busboy. We dine there frequently because they have the best menu, with the freshest ingredients. Been eating Japanese food for 65 years everywhere, NYC, Cal., New Jersey, Chicago, Colorado, etc. Their fish is ALWAYS fresh! The rolls are amazing! Not the most enticing dining room, not super fast service. But we come to enjoy a comfortable environment in a casual manner. Cant eat atmosphere or shove food down as fast as possible. North forkers know Haiku very well, while it is still a secret to people on the south fork. Easily the greatest value value among Japanese restaurants anywhere. HNY & merry xmas
