5 /5 Paige L: Had an amazing dinner here with the girls before the holidays. The space is quaint and cozy, but the hospitality truly made the night, especially Grissel. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely cared for from start to finish. The food was outstanding. The bruschetta was simple and extremely fresh (best I’ve had), and my rigatoni with vodka sauce + chicken was unreal. The vodka sauce is off-menu and absolutely worth it. Every dish at the table impressed, the ravioli, clams, risotto and eggplant pomodoro with shrimp. Even the chef stopped by to share recommendations, which made the experience feel extra special. One of the best girls’ nights and dinners we’ve had in a while. Can’t wait to come back!

5 /5 Gaby S: My fiancé and I had an amazing time having our NYE dinner at Il Nonno. The service was so warm and friendly, the music was great, the cocktails were delightful, and the food was amazing! I had the truffle ravioli and he had the boar ragu and we both couldn’t decide which one we liked more. Definitely will be returning!

4 /5 Kin: We stopped by for restaurant week - the restaurant is on the smaller side. Much of the appetizers were vegetarian based and was fairly standard, but some had too much sauce. The red snapper was well done and fresh. The pasta was on the chewy side and didnt sit too well with me. The risotto was nice and creamy, but the scallops were a bit rubbery. Overall the dishes were prepared well, just with some quirks Sometimes the staff dont look where theyre walking and bump into seats.

5 /5 T&E: Griselle (hope we are spelling her name correctly), the youthful and vibrant owner, made our first dining experience at Il Nonno incredible. We randomly walked in on a Saturday afternoon celebrating our one week wedding anniversary. From the second we sat down, she was so knowledgeable and ready to provide suggestions and hear what we were looking for. Every dish she suggested was better than the previous. Its very obvious that this establishment cares about the finer details and showcasing the chefs exceptional knowledge and pallet . From the off-white colored table clothes to the delectable Luxardo cherries in the old fashion cocktails - this place is 10/10. As Astoria natives, I can not recommend Il Nonno enough. Vibes are exquisite - perfect for a date night, or to grab a well balanced cocktail. Music playing- Olivia Dean, Khruangbin, lofi vibes. Absolutely a 10/10 experience from ambiance to service. The food and pear desert takes the cake as well. Weve been around the block with restaurants in this neighborhood and i can confidently say we left ecstatic about the experience. Wish we took pictures of the main dishes but we were too excited to eat them!
