Donald B This is a no-frills BBQ place where you help yourself to drinks and cold sides. The food is exactly what you see in the menu, no more no less. If you order as I did, St. Louis Ribs, expect nothing else on your plate. The food is very good, but not the very best BBQ I have ever had. My ribs were tasty and served with a straight up sauce, but were a bit tougher than I would have expected. They needed a bit more low and slow cooking. And they were a bit cold inside (was this a reheat?) We also had a SOCO chicken sandwich which rendered a good, not great from that person.

David Fanning My wife and I had a great experience at Maxs Es-ca on 07/06/25. It was on a Sunday so it was a little slow when we got there at 6 pm. Great dining room, I impressive bar, and professional wait staff. Good selection of specials but we went for the Beef Wellington which was excellent. Serious dessert menu and cocktail list. We will be back! Not cheap but, you get what you pay for!

518 Traveler Food was great, but it took a very long time for a server to initially approach us, and then a long time to get our food and to receive the check. It was about an hour before closing so it was nit busy. Other than the slow service, the food was good.

Renee Blake We had 4 specials suggested by WAYNE, the best Waiter in town— shrimp risotto, paella, tequila clams and seared tuna. The drinks were raspberry lemon drop and lavender blossom martini. Everything was fresh and delicious, and it was clear that the head chef is committed to and in charge of the kitchen. Go just to experience the highest service by waiter Wayne. He is friendly, kind, attentive, and the most thoughtful. We will return!

Yazzy Yaz Such an amazing resturant!!!! Our waitress named Melissa was amazing and treated us very well! The food is the best in Buffalo! Definitely would come again!

Lauren Larocca Walked in on a Thursday around 7:30p and we able to be seated right away at the bar or countertop. They have a great selection of beer, wine, and cider - all locally sourced. I order the duck special and I thought it was excellent. My partner and I split the tomato salad which was also delightful. We ordered a bottle of Pet-Nat from Atwater which was also delicious. I think this is an excellent date night spot or somewhere to celebrate a special occasion while in Watkins Glen. Would absolutely return.
