Charles Hollenbeck So far, so great. Stopped here for dinner, and the renovations since it was Consol’s make it much more cozy and warm feeling. If I had to compare it to other restaurants, it’s similar to Moxie Wood Fire Grill in Conklin or The Cellar in Owego. Warm, relaxed tones. Professional, competent, kind, and knowledgeable staff. And the food was outstanding.
My father had a steak, which perfectly transitioned from grill marks and scattered black gristle to a super soft, pink-red center, absolutely nailing med-rare. My wife and mother had pasta, again, nailing it with toasted mozzarella and homemade pasta. Which I should add: you can either purchase normal pasta, or in-house homemade pasta, and that is a rare thing to see. Lastly, I had the chicken and cranberries, etc, and it was so tender that my basic butter knife glided right through it.
I hope all goes well for them and that they are around for a very long time with tremendous success. They’ve earned it.
