The Bavarian Manor Hotel - (Near Purling, NY)

2 /5 Jessica Vandruff: It’s definitely a different experience than staying at a traditional hotel. This place could be very nice with some updating, but the building is 160+ years old and the flooring is very warped everywhere so almost every step creaks and you can feel the unevenness with every step. It smells old and dusty too. The room door only had a regular doorknob with twist lock and the front door was always unlocked for guests, so it didn’t feel the most secure, but because of the secluded area it didn’t feel unsafe either. The bed in our room was not very comfortable (very firm for my taste, but also worn out so we both rolled toward the middle) and the bathroom was very cramped. Also, apparently there are natural sulphur deposits in the area and you can smell and taste it in the tap water. The restaurant is currently not in operation and they have a TV in the room but no TV service. It’s not like there’s a lot to choose from in the area though. This place is better than a motel 6, and fine for a night or two, but I would not want to stay for several days.

1 /5 Hope Michael: Staff was kind and accommodating for early check-in. Location itself leaves much to be desired. With some TLC it could be a nice option. There is a smell/order to this place that would prevent me from returning. Beds and pillows were quite firm. The water in our room had an awful smell. Some members of my family experienced sniffles and itchy eyes while here. This hotel is not our cup of tea

5 /5 Marc Ness: Cool location, beautiful exterior. Rooms fully modern, and specious. Patricia, the person-in-charge when we arrived was super helpful giving local info, and graciously welcomed usfor an early (noon) arrival. Very cool interior decor - authentically old bones and decor. Highly recommended.

5 /5 Denise Hogg: My husband and I spent 3 days last week at the Inn. We have been there many times through the years. It is under a new ownership who continues to make you feel very comfortable. They gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The manager went out of her way to accommodate my gluten free diet supplying me with GF muffins and more. The room was cozy. Our dog loved it there. It was a very positive experience.

1 /5 cindy montano: thanksgiving buffet 2024 nine people adult price $ 52.00. The place was poorly lit and very cold was like being at the “Munsters”. Food was on warming trays and the water had evaporated causing the food to burn & stick to pan. The food was cafeteria quality at best. The waitress was pleasant. We left very disappointed and would never go back. Normally, I would not make a comment but would not want to see someone else have the same experience.
