Sandcha Ilteus After the experience I had today I am grateful my boyfriend and I found this place. Walked and welcomed with the warmest greeting! Staff was amazing and you can tell they work as a team! Julianne, our waitress was helpful and frequently made sure to check on us. Elena, also made sure our cups never got empty and bread stayed full (thank you so much for that the bread is AMAZING!). NOW TO THE FOOD: Mouthwatering! Get the Gorgonzola and Pear pizza, a party in your mouth. The spaghetti tasted so authentic and tasted even better with the complimentary bread. Amazing experience, highly recommend.

Natalie Koffarnus We enjoyed this place! It has the self-serve beer, wine, ciders on the wall. Clean and welcoming. It is upstairs next to a hotel. The food was good and there were a lot of games to play. We played pool, air hockey, pin ball and a few other arcade games. They are very fairly priced.

Rhoan Llobrera This is a late review, but I celebrated my birthday here and it was absolutely worth sharing. Everything was excellent from start to finish. The baked clams were beyond amazing—hands down the best baked clams I’ve ever had. The food overall was delicious, the portions were very generous (one serving can easily be shared by two to three people), and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The wine selection was also great and paired perfectly with our meal. The atmosphere was welcoming and perfect for celebrating with family and friends. If you’re looking for a place with great food, large portions, and a wonderful dining experience, this is definitely the spot. Highly recommend!

Shirley Combs Wow! We tried the lump crab meat and puff pastry app, was different and very good. Loved our dinners the other night, we tried the Haddock specials and they did not disappoint! Fish was fried to perfection, was nice and hot. And cannot forget the pizza got a 6 cut to go home, was great! Drinks were cold, and service was 5 Star! Kelly and Emily make you feel right at home, and they always go above and beyond. Great Job on the new menu items, and posting on social media. Everything was great!

K M We were staying at a hotel a minute away, and decided to come here due to convenience and good ratings. We were not disappointed. Staff were very kind, friendly and polite. We got seated upon arrival and were quickly brought our bread and some butter. We waited a little bit for our food, and we absolutely loved it. The chicken Alfredo was the perfect portion and the minestrone soup was delicious. Our desserts were delicious as well. I would recommend the affogato. Overall, a great meal. Definitely worth coming for dinner there.

Richard Ondreicka My wife Shirley and I have come to Il Poeta for years, before heading into the city to go to theatre. Its a romantic, intimate place to eat where the food is always made to the highest Northern Italian standards with homemade pasta and gnocchi. Chef Mario hails from both Cipriani Restaurant in Venice Italy as well as NYC where he worked alongside his Papa Luigi who taught him everything. Weve had their calamari, mussels and clams, Caprese, croquette di eggplant, and Linguini with clam sauce with zucchini. Chicken breast parmesan crust white wine and lemon sauce, veal scallopine with mushroom and bacon (to die for) and Salmon in a mustard pistachio crust and spinach. I do want to try the pork tenderloins with wild mushrooms next. Put it this way, after reviewing and eating at multiple restaurants up and down Metropolitan ave we chose to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary here with a party of 25 people. Everybody loved the food, and the service was excellent. Mario provided me a choice party menu at a price we were happy with. I wouldnt change a thing. The family raved about the menu and we all plan to come back again. Thanks Il Poeta
