The Maker Hotel - (Near Hudson, NY)

The location is so convenient, the food is remarkable and the staff is endlessly helpful. If you are looking for a Hudson Valley wedding location, this is a wonderful one!

5 /5 Camden Brown: My husband and I stayed at The Maker for our “mini-moon” after getting married at a venue nearby. Every detail was absolutely perfect. We stayed in one of the themed suites the first night and moved to a regular room for the other two nights. The per-night rate is steep, but the customer service is the best I have ever experienced. Our bags were taken up for us and transfered the second night without us lifting a finger, and we received complimentary coffee and tea every morning and evening delivered right to our door or waiting on the bed after turn down service. The atmosphere is carefully curated to help you unwind in luxury. We had time to explore Hudson, but we found we only wanted to enjoy the Maker, including the restaurant and cozy speakeasy. Be prepared to spend money on food and drink if you’re eating at the hotel, but we approached it as engaging in an experience. A special thank you to Leon with hotel services, Moire with the restaurant and Emma with the speakeasy for making our experience memorable and seamless. We will definitely be back.

5 /5 Olivia B: Stopped by The Maker Bar for a drink during our weekend away and loved every moment of it. The atmosphere, the cocktails, and the team were all great. We will definitely be booking a stay and having a meal there on our next trip.

5 /5 Melinda McCool: My husband and I are local and had dinner at the restaurant for our anniversary. We were seated immediately upon arrival at a beautiful table with the outdoor fountain in view. The staff had impeccable timing throughout our meal. We were started off with a complimentary glass of champagne. I highly recommend the bread and eggplant terrine. It was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a bottle of the Beaujolais with our pasta. We had the lamb ragu and the mushrooms. Both were delicious and just the right portion. The staff gave us some time to finish our bottle of wine and reminisce in private before we ordered our dessert. The affogato with the homemade ice cream was a perfect end to our enjoyable meal.Thank you for the lovely hospitality. Gabriella was an exceptional hostess and server. She was attentive, kind, and gave us privacy and time to enjoy the evening.

1 /5 Amanda Satalich: I have gone to hotel bars all over the world and never have had the experience I had last night. The vibe of the staff here is unwelcoming the second you step into the hotel. Any ambience and beautiful decor the hotel or restaurant has is completely overshadowed by the way the staff interacts with guests. It was my cousins birthday and we had a nice meal for dinner. After dinner we tried to get a drink in the lounge- they said they had no seats and we weren’t allowed to just get a drink and stand. We asked if there was anywhere we could sit and have a nice drink post dinner- as we were celebrating- and had just spent hundreds of dollars at the restaurant- and they brought us to the front room - which would be totally fine, except for we sat there for over ten minutes and no one came to take our drink order. While we were waiting my cousin went to walk around the front room- as it is a hotel and she wanted to see the decor (and no one was making any attempt to serve us) and the staff treated her so poorly when she asked if we could sit on the empty couch there instead- and then proceeded to say it was really for hotel guests (it was 10pm in a sleepy town in an empty hotel.) When I finally flagged someone down to ask for a drink (15 minutes after being seated) a women came over and said they wouldn’t be serving us, because we asked to sit in the other room. As we were leaving she was taunting my cousin whose birthday it was. I have never in all the hotels in the world I’ve been to have seen staff act that way or feel so unwelcome somewhere , let alone somewhere that I spent money. The way your staff treated us was appalling, unprofessional and extremely upsetting. A lot of my friends from the city come to Hudson for long weekends and I will be making sure they know not to come here.
