1 /5 nicholaso: We stopped in to catch a football game and have a few drinks. Since we were hungry, we figured we’d grab some food — big mistake. I ordered a hamburger platter medium, but what I got was a dry, overcooked, paper-thin patty with hard bacon. The waffle fries tasted stale, like they’d been reheated for the third time. My wife’s Reuben looked promising with all that corned beef, but it was just as dry as my burger. The only highlight of the entire meal? Her onion rings — those were actually good. Everything else was a complete letdown. I don’t usually go for bar food, but at these prices I expected way better. Honestly, this was the worst meal we’ve ever had sad to say. At least the atmosphere was friendly. We should’ve just stuck with beers.

5 /5 Luisa Echeverry: Great bar tenders! Kevin is the man. Fun atmosphere playing all different sports (including women’s sports!) Large and spacious areas and long bar with plenty of seating. Food is delicious, definitely try the Shepherds pie, wings and tacos!

4 /5 Ray Bolden: I recently visited The St. James in Mineola and had a mixed experience. First off, if youre not a fan of beef or chicken, your options are going to be pretty limited. I was hoping for something different and was disappointed to learn that the shrimp tacos—something I was looking forward to—are no longer on the menu. Speaking of the menu, there’s definitely some inconsistency between what’s listed online and what’s actually available in-house. It seems like theyve updated the menu, but the changes haven’t made it to their website yet. That made deciding what to order a bit confusing. I ended up going with a salmon taco, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t for me—I ended up tossing most of it. On a more positive note, the fries were great, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Parking wasn’t ideal, but there is adequate seating inside, which helped make the overall experience a bit more comfortable. I’m not writing this place off just yet. I’m willing to give it another shot, hopefully with better luck finding something on the menu that suits my tastes.
