A 5 Star unexpected lunch with incredible staff , flavor , and vibe We ordered two different bowls for lunch (one chicken and one salmon ) and some kind of cinnamon milk bun for a sweet and fabulous finish. The espresso martini was also incredible and unique Can’t wait to go back!

4 /5 Brandon Fry: Darling Jacks Tavern nails it as a charming happy hour spot with some great snacks and amazing atmosphere. While I recommend visiting for a spot at the bar, I unfortunately cant further recommend it for a full dinner. We had a reservation for two for dinner, and luckily for us they had small two-person booths available in the bar area which meant we could still get happy hour deals (happy hour isnt available in the non-bar areas). We did their tavern wedge salad which was a quite heavy wedge of lettuce loaded with bacon, cheese, avocado, and ranch. I enjoyed it just fine and my wife liked it quite a bit. My favorite thing, and definitely the main attraction if I were to return, was their tavern style pizza. For a reasonable price it was a flavorful, crispy, perfectly shareable and simple pizza. While I really appreciated it, I will note that my wife wasnt as enthusiastic and just thought it was okay. The big disappointment was the braised short rib cannelloni. Despite how good it looks in the picture, we were surprised that it was mediocre to borderline bad. The pasta was dry, the beef was completely flavorless, and for the size of both elements it didnt make any sense to put them together in the dish when they made each other worse. The sauce was the only saving grace but it wasnt enough. Do not get this dish despite how tempting it sounds. Overall I enjoyed our experience well enough, and can understand someone having a great time if they focused solely on the bar and happy hour snack side of things. But other aspects might be disappointing.

5 /5 Bickel Larry (ExtraGravy): Bustling busy place, loud but not too loud to talk some. Not a place for conversation though. Their specialty bun was way yummier than expected; recommended. Service was great. Their pepperoni and oregano pizza was really tasty. The menu is small which is a good thing here because they seem to do each dish really well. We sat by the kitchen and were impressed with the professionalism and how great every plate looked they sent out!

5 /5 Lawrence Gardner: Wow, wish Id tried this place sooner. Incredible, cozy vibe for a wintry date night. We came primarily for the French onion soup (which unsurprisingly was amazing) but were delighted by how delicious EVERYTHING was. Great drinks on top of that with some fun Sopranos theming. Only thing more surprising than all of that is how reasonably priced it is for a Center City joint. Cannot wait to come back!

5 /5 Keeks: Darling Jacks Tavern is a cute romantic spot for dates. A lot of dishes are meant to be shared. We got steak tartare with chips, which was really good and fresh, not gamey at all. Would’ve hoped for it to be slightly saltier, 4/5. The beet salad was interesting to say the least. It is mixed with pear, nuts, fennel, radish and cheese which all complemented each other, what a wonderful combination, 5/5. Lastly, of course we gotta have French onion soup. I’d recommend each person ordering one for themselves because it is very small. Otherwise, it was flavorful with different kinds of onions (raw, caramelized), imparting different textures, 4/5. With the environment and service, overall rating for me is 4.5/5. Would absolutely go back again!
