Restaurant Aleksandar - Philadelphia

Jordan Tried booking on Resy but for some reason it didn’t show up on the restaurants end. No matter because they kindly took us straight back to some seats! It was very dark but the food tasted great. Milk Buns were a huge hit and I personally loved the schnitzel (although i don’t think a schnitzel should taste that sweet). Waiters and hosts were very helpful and kind.

Christine G We had a wonderful time here. First, we stopped at the ice bar. For $10, we got a glass of wine and got to take many pictures of the awesome ice sculptures. Then we had dinner. Dinner was very good. The fish and steak seemed a bit undercooked, but they were quick to correct. Service was top-notch. The ambiance was groovey, fun, and interesting. We will be back for sure.

Wen Tung We had a nice dining experience here and would recommend it. I would like to return to try more things on the menu. Everything we ordered was really good. We got the Peking Duck, chargrilled aged beef, and dim sum sampler (added a third of each one for our party of 3). My only complaint was the Chinese mustard sauce drizzled all over the Szechuan fries with the steak. It didn’t taste good and it made the fries soggy. If the menu had mentioned it, I would have asked for the mustard to be on the side. The Peking Duck was really good! They deboned the entire duck which is unusual. The dim sum sampler was tasty. The edamame dumpling was a pleasant surprise. The shrimp dumpling was ok (the filling was too chunky and it fell apart after one bite). The pork wonton and chicken Ginger dumplings were very good. We got the strawberry dessert and the chocolate cake with banana buttercream and caramel peanuts. The strawberry one was described to us as a “deconstructed strawberry shortcake” but there wasn’t really any cake. The presentation was nice but we didn’t care for it. The chocolate/banana/peanut butter one was better. Our service was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

Antoinette G Social House is a positively outstanding restaurant! First discovered during the 2024 Best Bites Downtown and then for a pre-Benedum performance in 4Q 2025, my date and I were so impressed that we returned again on January 3, 2026, also pre-Benedum performace. From engaging and attentive servers (who made great menu recommendations) to well-crafted cocktails to flavorful robata (sat in a booth where we could watch the chefs!) and delicious socials/entrees, Social House 7 delivered an exceptional experience. The atmosphere warm and well designed. Highlights from January 2, 2026 were the Fusion Fashioned, Miso Glazed Salmon and Social House Salmon (see photos). A booth with a viewof the Robata chef added to ths evening. Highly recommend and plan to dine again soon!

William Clark What a great vibrant place to go to for great food, friendly staff and a very hip, swank atmosphere. You’ll see everything from formal wear to casual blue jeans. Prices are comparable to other high end restaurants so it’s worth a visit if you’re in the mood to have some fantastic food and fun times with friends. It’s not a place for an intimate first date due to it being in probably an old warehouse so you get a lot of echoing from other patrons so it can get pretty loud. Drinks are plentiful & flavorful. They even make their own wine. The Apples to Apples is a seasonal drink & of course tastes like ummm apples. Very tasty & puts you in the holiday spirit. Small plates I went with the crispy potatoes which were phenomenal and the rosemary makes these potatoes sing. We also tried the smoked squash which was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the smoke which compliments the squash perfectly. For my main, I picked the gnocchi with mushrooms. The only thing I didn’t enjoy about the dish was that it ended. I could have easily ate another plate of these perfectly prepared gnocchi and the brown sauce left me wanting to lick my plate clean (no I did not lick my plate, but I definitely wanted to). Staff are super friendly & helped us select just the right meal & drink. Would highly recommend Luca to anyone looking to have a great time with some friends & have some absolutely amazing and delicious food & drinks while doing it.

Brandon Nolte Overall, this place is a smash. The Salatim was outstanding. Bright, fresh, and packed with flavor across the board. Standouts were the cabbage, pumpkin, cauliflower, and beets, though honestly I could order just this and be happy. They handled gluten free thoughtfully and even brought sliced radish and cucumbers with sumac for the hummus. For mezze, the halloumi was rich and sweet, but the crudo stole the show. Bright, punchy, and beautifully balanced with blood orange, harissa, and crispy red lentils. Easily my favorite dish. The lamb Mesibah was good paired with the vegetable stew, though I wished the lamb was a bit fattier. Pickled elements were excellent. Desserts were solid but not the main draw. The chocolate pudding was bitter and tart with cherry jam and mint, and the pecan-style dessert leaned more salted caramel than expected, though the honey ice cream was nice. I would absolutely come back, order Ă  la carte, and get the crudo and Salatim again without hesitation.
