2 /5 Raysa Samaria: We’ve been loyal customers of this seafood restaurant for years and usually choose the 25th Street location over the Nazareth Road one. My husband and I come at least every two weeks for our lunch dates, so this review is disappointing to write but necessary.
Today, we brought our family and ordered our child the chicken tenders and fries. The chicken was raw. We immediately informed our waiter, who relayed the issue to the manager.
When the manager came to our table, he handled the chicken with his bare fingers and attempted to convince us it wasn’t raw. We calmly explained that we had already inspected it to make sure what are eyes saw was correct and were not comfortable serving it to our child. His response was that he’s been a cook for 40 years and cooked it himself, and that he could not issue a refund for the meal, which was $6.99.
He offered to remake it, which we accepted but once we did, he then changed his mind and said he couldn’t remake it but instead would cook another piece just to “show us” what raw chicken looks like. He returned with a piece that was raw, and to us, there was no visible difference between that one and my childs piece:
There was continuous back and forth until we chose not to continue. We paid for the meal anyway and left. We tipped our waiter on top of the gratuity, this was never about the money.
It’s incredibly disappointing to lose loyal customers over $6.99, but more importantly, over food safety and dismissive management. We’ve spent consistent money here for years, but after this experience, we will no longer return and will be taking our business to the location in the Walmart plaza/Nazareth road.
