Salvatore’s Pizza & Pasta - Belle Vernon

Rating: 4.8 /5
Sean McGowan Salvatore’s Pizza and Pasta: A Hidden Gem Worth the Drive Nestled in Rostraver, PA, Salvatore’s Pizza and Pasta is the kind of place you hope stays a secret just long enough for you to savor its greatness without a crowd—but honestly, there should be a line out the door for pizza this good. The owner’s Brooklyn roots shine in every slice. Salvatore’s thin-crust pizza hits all the right notes of authentic New York style: a sauce that’s perfectly tangy and vibrant, just the right kiss of grease to keep things indulgent, and a crust that’s both airy and crisp. The bottom has the ideal amount of char, giving it a subtle smokiness that complements the flavors beautifully. There’s very little flop, so you can fold your slice Brooklyn-style with ease, and each bite is a balance of chewy, crunchy, and utterly satisfying. The unassuming location outside of Pittsburgh makes Salvatore’s a true hidden gem, but make no mistake—this is destination-worthy pizza. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, one visit will have you coming back again and again. Authenticity, flavor, and craftsmanship—Salvatore’s has it all. Do yourself a favor and experience it before everyone else discovers the magic. Can’t wait to try their Brooklyn Sicilian next!

Gazzos Steaks - Pottstown

Sammer Nasar If you’re in Pennsylvania and craving a real cheesesteak, Gazzo’s is the spot. Hands down the best cheesesteaks ever — better than Pat’s, better than Geno’s, no question about it. I ordered the Gazzo Cheesesteak with hot peppers, and from the very first bite I was in heaven. The balance was perfect — the cheese was melted just right, the peppers added the perfect kick, and the roll held up beautifully. They don’t skimp on the meat either — it’s loaded and packed with flavor. You can tell they care about quality and quantity here. Every bite had that perfect blend of juicy steak, cheese, and spice. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you stop mid-bite and say “wow.” This place is a gem — friendly service, big portions, and unbeatable flavor. I’m already planning my next trip back. If you love cheesesteaks, Gazzo’s is a must.

Allen Rummel Went for lunch during all of this craziness going on in the this world. Ended up having a good lunch with my family. All of the cutlery was pre-packaged forks and knives then spoons came seperate, if needed. All the servers wore face masks and gloves. Seemed to be very sanitary around the customers. There is a sign that says must wear face mask to enter, which is nice even though most local people dont follow the guidance throughout the state. Service was fast and friendly. We all got entrees with one appetizer and a side. All were satisfied with our food. Got the French onion soup, it was chock full of onions not too much broth. Couldve used another minute under broiler to brown up the cheese a bit, overall a good soup. The mac n cheese bites were on point, not overlly cheesey but good flavor and fried nicely. My main was a dozen wings (half southern dynamite/ half sweet heat) and a side of the brew city fries. Wings were good, not spectacular, and sauces were a good option. I was looking for some more heat but it did the trick and all wings were drenched in sauce. The brew city fries were a beer battered fries which gives them a nice crust and excellent flavor. The other mains were the Buffalo chicken salad, which was recommended to us by our server and was kind of disappointing. It was a chopped salad that was on a flatter plate, which is not the correct vessel for a salad of that size. Then knight burger was cooked well and had good seasoning with house fries. Then the last was ham tailgater with the works minus the peppers. All were good mains except the salad because of the plate and the fact that its a chop salad, so trying to stab with a plastic fork isnt gonna work well.

Hearty Slice - Lebanon

Seth Hainly The mushroom slice had a very good garlic flavor. The crust was nice and crunch but not overdone. The stuffed meat lovers pizza was also delicious. They use the whole slice to stuff it with meat, not like other places that leave 2 inches of crush without meat. I was pleased and I would return again.

Zachary Boniello Had my first experience here yesterday. My wife was gone to a concert with friends and I had to fend for myself for dinner. Ordered the Tampiqueña as takeout and it was so good! Large portion, steak was great and the enchiladas were out of this world. Fried plantains seemed like a bonus and were delicious also. We are looking forward to enjoying a meal together, since I couldnt stop talking about how good it was. Support this great local business! You wont be disappointed!
