Trophys Bar And Grill - Johnstown

Rating: 4 /5
Matthew Haslett Had a late lunch today at Trophys Bar and Grill, our first time ever eating at this establishment. Their new location is in the old Saints Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Saint Clair Rd. and that was our main reason for going: to check out the architecture of the building, the stained glass windows, etc. The stained glass windows are beautiful and looked to be well preserved. The building itself is cool, very much what youd expect from a church in this area, nice and open inside, very high ceilings, really cool setting and nice to see the building being put to use after being listed for sale (Im not sure why it is no longer a church, I dont know the history of it, I just know it used to be a church and now it is not). The setting was very peaceful and we liked it! The service was great, regretfully we didnt catch the name of our server but she was very pleasant and attentive. The food was very good and I felt especially compelled to post a review because of a prior 1-star review that was posted about the "disgusting food". Whenever I see a 1-star review that is completely negative and the person has nothing at all good, or at least neutral, to say about a place, I question the veracity of the statement. The owner replied to the "review" in a very professional manner and that really resonated with me, the fact that they took the time to reply to something very professionally while the review seemed like a "hit piece" and didnt seem like it warranted much, if any, of a response. For the record, I do not know anyone connected with this establishment, I just dont like to see a small business run into the ground for something that was more than likely a one-off problem, if there was even any problem in the first place. Social media is great in that it allows you to browse businesses and get a feel for somewhere with never having been there, but as with so many things, it is a double-edged sword that also allows people to post things that almost surely should have been handled in person or via a phone call. It was not stated that the reviewer attempted to resolve the issue prior to their post, and to me thats not fair to the business whatsoever, they should be given the chance to rectify the situation before being "put on blast" by someone sitting behind a keyboard. I ordered the Reuben sandwich not only because I like that sandwich in general, but I specifically wanted to see how it was here and I can say that it was delicious! Whenever we stop in again I will definitely order it (after having sampled some of the other tasty sounding offerings)!! We also had the toasted ravioli, fried pickles, a hearty hamburger, mac & cheese, and chicken tenders, and everything was delicious and served promptly. To top it off, our 2 1/2 year old daughter really enjoyed the food, and anyone that knows kids knows that they will most definitely let you know if something is not up to their standards and she was happy with everything she had/sampled! :)

The Mediterranean - West Chester

Mark DeVito We had such a great dinner here! Everything felt fresh, flavorful, and made with care. I ordered the chicken kabob platter, and it was absolutely perfect — juicy, tender, and beautifully charred with that hint of lemon and herbs. The yellow rice was light and fragrant, and the grilled veggies added the perfect touch. The hummus was so creamy and smooth, easily some of the best I’ve had. For dessert, we shared the chocolate lava cake, and it was the perfect ending — rich, warm, and balanced with fresh berries and whipped cream. The service was kind and unhurried, and the cozy atmosphere with the blue and white touches made it feel like a little escape to the Mediterranean coast. Great spot for a date night or dinner with friends. Highly recommend!

Red Lobster - Pittsburgh

Rating: 4.4 /5
David Jonathan (JD) Possibly the best Red Lobster location in Greater Pittsburgh region. Based on food quality, service, and the general vibe, this location stands out vs the Monroeville or McKnight rd locations, and worth the drive if your in the mood for nostalgic deliciousness that you might remember from trips to RL as a kid. Even the portions seemed more. 10/10 would come back

Aryana Hainsworth Visiting the city for the week - a local friend told us about the basically bottomless mimosas and we had to go. Brunch was awesome, the menu is fun and creative, and service was great too. Cool spot in downtown, Id love to go back and try some of the grilled cheeses!
