McDonnells Restaurant - (Near Carbondale, PA)

5 /5 Richard Nesgoda: I was greeted very quickly and had a menu and drink in a few minutes. Everyone was very friendly and the food was great. The fried chicken was not greasy and had a great flavor. It was just before noon and there were customers inside but it wasnt crowded and it was quite. I ordered lunch, ate my food, and got some work done in under 40 minutes. You will need some quarters for parking but I spent less that $20 for a good meal. I would definitely recommend trying this place and I will be back for more.

2 /5 Ty: The atmosphere was oddly decorated. The decorator seemed to have gotten confused on what they wanted to do. Slightly pepper sauce. Acidity of sauce was high. Meatballs were a bit dry and bready. Flavor was not impressive. Spaghetti overcooked. Kind as though they already had the spaghetti ready and just threw extremely hot sauce on top. Seems as though pasta was sitting in water for a while too. (Note: The restaurant was not busy.) I was just about finished eating when the server came to ask if everything was okay. I reminded her of my absent coleslaw. Received a refill of drink. Coleslaw was horrible and had an icy taste and feel. Pasta should be cooked al dente and cooked to order.

5 /5 CMB: We are from Wilmington DE and passing thru to visit family. Our hotel recommended McDonnells. Their special that night was stuffed roasted pork loin (absolutely delicious). I also ordered the Peanut Butter Cream pie to go and it did not disappoint! The place is eclectic and homey. The wait staff is very attentive. I recommend that you get the mini potato pancakes with sour cream for an appetizer. Thank you.

5 /5 R. A. Demian: This is a great stop for breakfast with very unique decor and a comfortable atmosphere. I had a western omelette that exceeded my expectations and some delicious home fries. Prices were very very reasonable and you dont leave hungry. The boy even ate all of his eggs which is a rare occasion. Service was fast and friendly and overall a great experience.

5 /5 Paul Cody: Good food, Good people, great atmosphere for historians and hunters. They have deer heads hanging in the diner eating area. For myself its great but for the anti-hunter you may not like the view. The food is amazing.
