Opa Veras - (Near Pottstown, PA)

Carrie Troudt I have never had such an incredible meal. We had intended to just get something to go because we only had 15 minutes left on our parking meter. Chef Sammy met us inside the door and dishearteningly agreed to make us something to go. Then Josh, the waiter, told us that we didn’t have to pay for parking since it was Veteran’s Day. We decided to stay and boy are we glad we did. We had the blackened yellow-fin tuna in ginger sauce as an appetizer, followed by the wild caught salmon with capers and julienned vegetables, and the sautéd grouper & shrimp. It was exquisite and I savored every single bite. Then, for dessert, we got tiramisu and a cannoli. The tiramisu had the perfect blend of flavors and texture while the cannoli was just the right amount of crunch and filling. Both desserts were the perfect level of sweetness and provided a magnificent end to the meal. The food wasn’t the only thing that was amazing though. Since we came at a slow time of day Chef Sammy was able to take the time to share some of his origin story with us, and we were able to visit with Josh the waiter who has been there for 18 years. Amazing food. Incredible service. Worth every penny.

angel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a wonderful experience thanks to our server, Kalynn! From start to finish, she was absolutely amazing—attentive, personable, kind, and incredibly fast. Everything came out perfectly and she made sure we had everything we needed before we even had to ask. Her personality really elevated the evening as it is hard to find good service nowadays and while she had other tables, she made it a point to make us feel welcomed. She made our dinner feel special. You can tell she truly cares about providing great service. We left happy, full, and can’t wait to come back. The food is always amazing here. Thank you for making our night such a great one Kalynn! Mengyao Nie I was visiting friend in the area, and found this restaurant. It didn’t let me down! It’s a nice area and the restaurant atmosphere was lovely. The staff were very friendly. We had some appetizers, sashimi and sushi, all of them were so fresh and delicious (too hungry, so I didn’t take picture for all of the dishes we had). Salmon belly, yellow tail and uni sushi& hand rolls were my favorite. Might come back again before I leave to try more food :) Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Nysan Moore The atmosphere was nice and friendly. The server sat us immediately and brought us our drinks with complimentary corn bread. Honestly I couldve eaten more but I wanted to save my appetite for the food. The menu has plenty of amazing options to order. For appetizers we ordered chicken and collard greens egg rolls and the catfish nuggets. The catfish was freshly fried and delicious. I ordered the shrimp po boy with sweet potato fries. I was surprised to see that they sprinkled brown sugar on the fries, it was a nice touch. For sides the Mac n cheese and yams were both amazing and seasoned well not overdone. I will definitely return to try options on the menu. The outside display for the business is hard to see, I open they find a solution to help customers to see the restaurant clearly despite being on a busy street.

Terry Messner We went here for the Restaurant Week special, the Bratwurst burger. It was my first time here and was very excited to try their food as they seem to get amazing reviews online. Now the only thing I tried there was this burger and Im not sure if it was a regular menu item. It was a good sandwich and the burger itself was very good. There was a heaping pile of sauerkraut on it, along with other condiments. I really enjoyed it, my daughter seemed meh on it and my wife didnt care for it as she doesnt like sauerkraut. We will have to go back to give a more fair and accurate review. Based on this sandwich, I enjoyed Calabar and would happily return. On a side note, it seemed very kid friendly to me. There were several families with kids and there was a small kitchen kids play area upstairs.

Matthew Winkler Great food. My wife and I love this restaurant and it has the best food on main street Bethlehem. Get the trimofongo with sausage and creole sauce. Also cant come here without the fried app sampler.
