Wen Tung We had a nice dining experience here and would recommend it. I would like to return to try more things on the menu. Everything we ordered was really good. We got the Peking Duck, chargrilled aged beef, and dim sum sampler (added a third of each one for our party of 3). My only complaint was the Chinese mustard sauce drizzled all over the Szechuan fries with the steak. It didn’t taste good and it made the fries soggy. If the menu had mentioned it, I would have asked for the mustard to be on the side. The Peking Duck was really good! They deboned the entire duck which is unusual. The dim sum sampler was tasty. The edamame dumpling was a pleasant surprise. The shrimp dumpling was ok (the filling was too chunky and it fell apart after one bite). The pork wonton and chicken Ginger dumplings were very good. We got the strawberry dessert and the chocolate cake with banana buttercream and caramel peanuts. The strawberry one was described to us as a “deconstructed strawberry shortcake” but there wasn’t really any cake. The presentation was nice but we didn’t care for it. The chocolate/banana/peanut butter one was better. Our service was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

Red Owl Tavern - Philadelphia

Nicole Goss A Perfect On-Site Dining Spot for Wedding Weekends in Philadelphia! Red Owl Tavern is such a great complement to Hotel Monaco Philadelphia and a standout dining option in its own right. The atmosphere strikes a really nice balance — lively yet comfortable, modern without feeling cold — which makes it especially ideal for wedding weekends. The current/temporary restaurant space (as of 1/10/26) can be seen in the images here, as the original tavern is being renovated. Even the temporary area is thoughtfully designed and welcoming, making it a natural gathering spot for rehearsal dinners, post-rehearsal drinks, or casual meals with family and friends in town for a celebration. Having an on-site restaurant of this quality is a huge bonus for couples and guests alike. The food was beautifully prepared and comforting in the best way — elevated without being pretentious. It’s easy to imagine this being a go-to spot for wedding guests looking for a relaxed but memorable dining experience right in the heart of the city. For couples planning a Philadelphia wedding, Red Owl Tavern offers convenience, atmosphere, and quality — all things that help create a smooth and enjoyable wedding weekend!

Wooden Angel Restaurant - Beaver

Tyler Harvey Absolutely outstanding experience at The Wooden Angel. I’ve eaten at restaurants all around the country and even internationally, and this was truly an amazing place. The lobster bisque was incredibly flavorful without being overly acidic, and the chicken Parmesan sandwich was phenomenal—one of the best I’ve had. Most importantly, our waitress Don was exceptional. She was genuinely one of the nicest and most attentive servers we’ve ever had. She checked in at all the right times, made great conversation, and truly elevated the entire dining experience. The rest of the staff was equally impressive. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and even offered coat service. Throughout the meal, our drinks were continuously refilled without ever needing to ask. Hands down the best service I’ve experienced in Pittsburgh, and honestly among the best in the entire state. We will absolutely be back.

Brandon Nolte Overall, this place is a smash. The Salatim was outstanding. Bright, fresh, and packed with flavor across the board. Standouts were the cabbage, pumpkin, cauliflower, and beets, though honestly I could order just this and be happy. They handled gluten free thoughtfully and even brought sliced radish and cucumbers with sumac for the hummus. For mezze, the halloumi was rich and sweet, but the crudo stole the show. Bright, punchy, and beautifully balanced with blood orange, harissa, and crispy red lentils. Easily my favorite dish. The lamb Mesibah was good paired with the vegetable stew, though I wished the lamb was a bit fattier. Pickled elements were excellent. Desserts were solid but not the main draw. The chocolate pudding was bitter and tart with cherry jam and mint, and the pecan-style dessert leaned more salted caramel than expected, though the honey ice cream was nice. I would absolutely come back, order à la carte, and get the crudo and Salatim again without hesitation.

Ryan Hertel Kevin’s a terrific atmosphere every time I’ve been there. I’ve been here several times over the years and have always had an awesome experience. Surprisingly I just haven’t left a review until now but I’ve thought about it. I had a work holiday party at Kevin‘s one year (2019 I think) and it was a terrific time. Just last night I had dinner with my girlfriend and we had an awesome time. She loved her meal, I loved my salmon. Waitresses were extremely on point. Helped us with everything. We’ll be back again and again.
