Franciscos Salvadoreño Restaurant - Bethlehem
Richard W After dining here a few times, I’m convinced Francisco’s is one of the best restaurants in the area. The food’s cheap, delicious, filling, and incredibly consistent. You’d be hard pressed to find a better value than the $8 yuca con chicharrones. Even though it’s listed as an appetizer, it’s almost a full meal. The meat’s well-seasoned with a savory marinade. The yuca is soft and fluffy with a lightly oily crispy crust—not an easy feat to achieve consistently.
Other dishes I’ve tried were also amazing. The pupusas have such a deep corn flavor. I’d skip the beef empanadas as the chicken empanadas are much tastier. The cow’s foot soup is warm, soft, and comforting from all the slow-cooked collagen. I do wish it had a punchier flavor, but it does its job of being a comfort food. Overall, for the price, it’s hard to beat the value offered by Francisco’s.
