1.Old Corner Hotel

Cody Bost I was in the area and had a wonderful dinner at the Old Corner. The dining room is beautiful and was surprisingly quiet at 7:30 on a Friday evening, granted this was my first time, but the bar area was packed. The focaccia was amazingly fresh and I can’t rave enough about the pickled peppers served as part of the dipping ensemble. Amazing and unlike any bread dipping mix that I’ve ever experienced. The clams casino was prepared very well and worthy of trying, but the clams themselves had a mediocre flavor. This place isn’t exactly on the beachfront, so I can’t fault them for the clam stock. For the main course I chose the filet mignon seared in a bacon-balsamic redux, medium, with mashed potatoes. The steak was a little beyond medium, but everything about it was absolutely perfect; so tender and fantastically flavorful. If I was still in town tonight, I might do it all over again.

AandB Talks Update: We had a wedding in both of the back rooms. Josh was wonderful to work with, and exceeded our expectations. Accommodating for all items thrown our way; he was able to move up the meal time and that the appetizer when the bridal party showed up earlier than expected. As always the food is delicious, the staff in the back make excellent dishes. All 150 guests and cleaning up all of the dinner wear in great time. Original: A wedding was going on while we visited. While the staff was a little thin due to the event; our waiter was attentive and helpful as much as possible. I highly suggest looking over the weekly specials- thats how we picked up the wonderful Aztec Salsa-. We happened to get the baked scallops , the Italian Burger, and Grilled Chicken Salad. Very generous portions, so reminder to come hungry.

Vanessa Matney The food was delicious! My husband and I are from out of town and was looking for something different to try for dinner. I found them on line and liked what I saw on the menu. So we gave it a shot. I tried the French dip and it was wonderful. The beef was sliced very thin just how I like it and my husband tried the tacos. It was a Tuesday and I guess they have Taco Tuesdays! He really liked them. Hes a picky eater so I was surprised he mentioned liking them before I asked. $1.50 for a taco you cant go wrong. The service was great as well. Quick and our order was perfect. We will definitely be going back when we are in town again.

Allen Rummel Went for lunch during all of this craziness going on in the this world. Ended up having a good lunch with my family. All of the cutlery was pre-packaged forks and knives then spoons came seperate, if needed. All the servers wore face masks and gloves. Seemed to be very sanitary around the customers. There is a sign that says must wear face mask to enter, which is nice even though most local people dont follow the guidance throughout the state. Service was fast and friendly. We all got entrees with one appetizer and a side. All were satisfied with our food. Got the French onion soup, it was chock full of onions not too much broth. Couldve used another minute under broiler to brown up the cheese a bit, overall a good soup. The mac n cheese bites were on point, not overlly cheesey but good flavor and fried nicely. My main was a dozen wings (half southern dynamite/ half sweet heat) and a side of the brew city fries. Wings were good, not spectacular, and sauces were a good option. I was looking for some more heat but it did the trick and all wings were drenched in sauce. The brew city fries were a beer battered fries which gives them a nice crust and excellent flavor. The other mains were the Buffalo chicken salad, which was recommended to us by our server and was kind of disappointing. It was a chopped salad that was on a flatter plate, which is not the correct vessel for a salad of that size. Then knight burger was cooked well and had good seasoning with house fries. Then the last was ham tailgater with the works minus the peppers. All were good mains except the salad because of the plate and the fact that its a chop salad, so trying to stab with a plastic fork isnt gonna work well.

Mark Simmons Other than Chi-Chis, I can honestly say I dont recall ever eating Mexican. Ended up here because we went out with good friends and they picked. I had no idea what to order so I went with something timid and mild, Sante Fe chicken. It was very good, not too spicy or anything. It was served with rice and veggies. Everything was great. It was very nice inside, I only deducted 1 star for atmosphere due to being seated directly in front of the front door which opened directly outside to 20 degree air with folks coming in holding the door open. Definitely could use a vestibule if there was room. All six people in our group enjoyed their food very much. The tip was already included on our bill, so remember to check that when you pay. We parked right next to the restaurant in "paid" parking lot, but a nice lady told me I didnt have to pay after 6pm, so I didnt and had no issues. Good experience. Will go back.

Sasha Powell I placed an order through Postmates and got an email a couple of minutes later saying the restaurant couldn’t get to my order, so I called to see if there was a mistake. I am so glad that I did because their food is honestly mouth watering. The woman who answered was so friendly and accommodating, especially since they were close to closing time. I ordered three of the oxtail platters with rice and beans, sweet potatoes, baked Mac and cheese and cabbage. I’ve eaten oxtail from numerous Jamaican restaurants and when I tell you these were the best oxtail I’ve ever had, that is no exaggeration. The cook definitely knows exactly what he’s doing! Everything was SOOO flavorful and the portions were so big that one meal became two for me, the picture attached are my leftovers! I will most definitely be back (at least once a week) and I’m telling everybody I know about this restaurant!!

Kaitlin Kang Exceptional Service and Great Food at Barrel 135 We recently hosted our rehearsal dinner at Barrel 135, and we could not have been happier with the experience. Planning for a group of 30 people on a tight budget isn’t easy, but the team at Barrel 135 went above and beyond to make it all work — even including tax and tip in the final cost. The restaurant is known for its martinis, and they absolutely lived up to their reputation. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how creative and well-balanced the drinks were. The bartenders were phenomenal — not only keeping up with our large party but also smoothly tending to other guests at the same time. For dinner, we chose a menu featuring Chicken Marsala, Rigatoni Ragu, and Shrimp & Asparagus Risotto, and every dish was delicious. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and perfectly prepared. Several guests have gluten sensitivities, and Barrel 135 handled those accommodations with real care — offering separate gluten-free dressings and menu adjustments without hesitation. From start to finish, the service was friendly, attentive, and professional. It’s clear the staff truly care about their guests. We left feeling completely taken care of and so grateful for how smoothly everything went. If you’re looking for a local spot that combines great food, amazing drinks, and top-notch hospitality, Barrel 135 is it. They made our special night even more memorable, and we’d highly recommend them for any celebration or casual night out.
