5 /5 Shontá Shailyn: After driving up from Fort Worth, we decided to stop in for lunch, and from the moment we walked in we knew we made the right choice. Miss Brenda greeted us with the warmest welcome, and since it was our first visit, she took her time walking us through the menu and specials. She was such a delight and pleasure to speak with.
We came in on a Friday and ordered the chef specials, oven baked chicken and fried ribs with sweet potatoes, collard greens, green beans, and cornbread. When I tell you that chicken fell off the bone and was moist and full of flavor, I mean it. The rib was tender with the perfect crispy crunch. I can’t even remember the last time I had grape Kool-Aid, but one sip brought me straight back to childhood.
I also tried a slice of their pound cake, and it was just the right amount of sweetness. Truly some of the best food I’ve had out in a long time. The portions were hearty, the atmosphere was inviting, and they were playing some of my favorite R&B jams, which made the whole experience even better.
Great food, great music, great people, great vibes. This quaint, family-style establishment is a gem. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.
